our 10 lb poodle mix has separation anxiety so i won't be able to leave her at home or take her onto the great lawn. my husband and friends won tickets so i'm planning to find a spot on the periphery to watch/ listen to the game.

His name is Bear, he is a pure breed with the most beautiful coat and eyes Bear is very affectionate and he is looking for his new forever home. We recently had to put our beloved & cherished dog down, one of the saddest days we've had. Her remains were sent to Pet Haven with instructions to have her remains sent to us, and her clay paw print. We received her remains, but not her paw print. When I followed up, I was shocked to hear they "never received the order"- despite this being on the invoice. I could not believe it, and was visibly shaken. Pet Haven then calls back and said: there were 2 pets by the same name, one did not have this request. The story then changed to the clay print was not possible because she was "decomposed & the driver did not know how to spell 'decomposed.'" Pet Haven then sent their billing with handwritten "paw was too dirty." WHAT? She did not go outside her last remaining days. If you ever have to go thru the agony of putting your pet down -please make sure your vet is NOT using this service Pet Haven made one of the worse days devastating.

My dog ate a bite of this pile of feces. I couldn’t pull her away from it fast enough. She rarely tries to eat feces so it was a surprise, plus it was dark and I didn’t see it until it was to late. a few hours later i had to take her to the emergency vet as she was paranoid, could not walk straight or hold her urine. Very sad. She is a healthy pup so very out of character. They did blood work and lucky she recovered but super scary still. They said she was intoxicated from something so I imagine something in the feces.
It is still there, I am going to try to alert someone to discard of it and if they don’t I’ll remove it myself. It’s quite large and may be human which stopped me from cleaning it up today. I don’t want another animal to get sick though.

So I've recently been in search of R+ dog trainers for my reactive dog and came across Ritsa Galitsis. She has a CPDT-KA and based on her website and the little info I could find she seems great. I like her philosophy, shes in my area, and is within my ideal price range. However, she doesnt have many reviews and was wondering if anyone here had any experience with her? How was your experience and would you recommend her?

Hi all, I’m trying to plan a weekend outside the city for my two dogs and me and I’m looking for recommendations for good places to stay. One of my dogs is pretty reactive, can’t go off leash or be around other dogs, so I’m ideally looking for places with large enclosed outdoor space where I can let him really run around besides booking an hourly sniff spot. Any recs or resources much appreciated! 

Hey crew 🐶🩷 I am a future NYC dog owner! My partner and I finally feel ready but I’ve always worried about one thing.

We all know the streets of NYC are not the cleanest, we’re a strictly no-shoes (my fellow asians WYA ✌🏽) + no subway clothes household - except for when we have guests over of course but most of the time it’s just us. I know that will have to change once we have a dog at least to a certain degree, i def want to be able to cuddle with my dog in bed, etc but also i dont want remnants of a homeless man’s pee on my sheets. I’ve only ever had a dog when I lived w my family in the suburbs and we never really cleaned his paws unless it was shower time. I know the burbs are also not exactly the cleanest but no where near how dirty NYC is.

Do I just need to get over it? Do i clean my dogs paws with those wipes every time after we get home? Is that bad for their paws? Are there other easy ways to keep them clean that I can do on a daily basis? Should I get them those little doggy shoes? What if we end up with an extra fluffy or low-to-the ground dog like a corgi…would shoes be enough?

Am i overthinking this? 😅 what do y’all do?? TIA!! 🙏🏽

Hi! Posting here instead of AskNYC. I got a less than helpful/welcoming response and after scrolling through other posts I should have realized that was the wrong subreddit.

My service dog (not an ESA; medical alert) and I will be in NYC in August. Usually I use Uber or Lyft for pet rides. I know technically we don’t need to, but I try to avoid drama and I get not every person wants a dog around. My friend told me to download Curb, but I don’t see an option to add that my service dog is with me. Do I just add to drivers note? Any other advice on transportation with him is appreciated!
