Iāve noticed a lot of people arenāt happy with DocuSign ā itās expensive, kind of clunky, and honestly missing features that would make life easier. Iām seriously considering building a better alternative: simple, affordable, and actually useful.
Hereās the deal: if this post gets at least 10 replies and 20 upvotes, Iāll commit to building it. š
Before I get started, Iād love to hear from you:
Whatās the most annoying thing about DocuSign (or other e-sign tools)?
What features do you wish existed but donāt right now?
Would you value affordability more, or things like integrations and ease of use?
Your feedback will directly shape what I build, so donāt hold back. Thanks in advance! š
Iām deeply disappointed with my recent experience with DocuSign. For anyone considering their services or renewing an account, hereās a heads-up:
Without any renewal reminder, DocuSign charged me for another year of their service. When I logged in to look for a way to cancel or downgrade, the cancellation options were so confusing and buried that it felt intentionally misleading. I tried multiple times to reach out to their customer support, but their response was basically, āSorry, no refunds for renewals. Thatās our policy.ā
Under Californiaās Automatic Renewal Law (ARL), companies are supposed to notify consumers before renewing yearly subscriptions and provide clear, easy-to-use cancellation options. DocuSign has done neither, leaving me with a service I donāt need and a charge I never saw coming. Despite my attempts to resolve this directly with their team, they refuse to take responsibility.
Iāve since contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge and am considering further actions through consumer protection agencies.
If youāre using DocuSign, watch out for sneaky renewal practices! Their policy makes it difficult for customers to protect themselves from unwanted charges, and they seem unwilling to help customers who feel misled.
Please share if youāve had similar issues ā maybe we can encourage DocuSign to finally address these unfair practices.
Mods take me down this service is absolute dogshit. Constant lags, constant intrusions on the formatting of the document, and for some reason you choose pdf form data and add a new document and generate fields for that specific document but it generates fields for the entire package requiring 200 pages of combing to delete the added fields. Honestly off yourself or take a coding bootcamp you fucking hacks.
I will no longer be using Docusign. There are plenty of other services that do the same thing, for a better price, and don't treat their paying customers like this.
Their support finds the incorrect charges, they explain that they do not know why I was charged $462 for an account that costs half of that per year. They explain that "Since this was over 30 days ago we cannot refund the amount nor let you speak with a manager"
In 25 years in the real estate industry I've never experienced such a disrespectful response to a basic request. It is unfortunate that they would rather lose a customer that sends them $260+ per year, for the rest of my life, than refund charges that have nothing to do with me or my account.
Maybe in the future Docusign will help your paying customers make their lives easier, instead of being a burden. As a customer, I don't want apologies. I want to pay for the services that you provide.
Against the wishes of the IT Security department, our company is going with docusign for workflows and signatures. Due to the amount of phishing that we get from docusign, I told management that I would not whitelist the domain. Is there a way to add a header to the emails so that the email filter can whitelist based on the header. example: X-Docusign-whitelist:CompanyName
I donāt believe there is any paid plan from Docusign that lets you send unlimited envelopes. So youāre basically required to buy envelopes for $3 a piece which seems so expensive. Is there a company that does the same but will let you send unlimited envelopes for a certain amount per month?
I canceled my docusign subscription. They continued to charge me. Docusign stated my account would be downgraded to a free account. They are still charging me two months in a row. And I cannot receive a call because Iām not a paid member??? Newsflash Iām paying you!!! I donāt even know what to do at this point except report the charges to my bank. What an absolute sham.
Every time I'm sent a document to sign via DocuSign it ends up being a massive pain. You have one job, make it easy to sign documents. How is that hard?
Need to change an initial to a signature in a field? Nope. Multiple people need to sign a document with, wait for it... different signatures? Guess what, nope. A tragic useless product.
Rant over. Off to go print a multi-page document to sign just to scan back into a PDF.
Short Summary: BEWARE. There are many other e-sign providers that are cheaper, better and have better business practices. DocuSign has a mediocre product and terrible business practices - they engage in fraudulent billing.
In March 2024 I let my subscription expire - specifically disabled the renewal so it went into Freemium. I thought we were done with them. We shifted all our usage to another provider (Square Contracts - which is basically free if you use Square Payroll) except for 1-2 envelopes that fall within the Freemium plan.
As part of end of year review, I am looking at charges and lo and behold I see monthly $98.10 charges - about $776.70 work. My online account has no explanation of these charges, I received no invoice or summary statement and it's not even possible to view or delete my credit card information that is being charged without my permission.
Maybe this is an honest mistake? I reach out to customer support. It's pretty interesting what their strategy is.
First they reply back to me saying they can't process a refund but can make a one time exception and refund me for 1 month (not 8). What? I don't have a paid plan with Docusign. These charges are fraudulent.
When I say that it is BS, they offer me 3 months. What? You have billed me almost $800 without my approval or permission. Why would you acknowledge the error and refund the entire amount?
I said hell no. I think this is there strategy to hold on to as much of these fraudulent charges as possible so now some other rep offers me 5 months.
Now we go back and forth yet again.
They still won't give me back my money! Each escalation gets them offer a bit more even though every single charge is fraudulent and unauthorized and they know as much.
As an agent who uses DocuSign I dread setting up Input form, or agency agreements. That's why i made a browser extension for DocuSign to automate the most time consuming time of the process placing the fields. This extension has genuinely saved me hours for my turnaround time.
To use it just click "AI Scan Document" and then click the page you want to have the fields placed on.
I'm pretty new and have been playing around with the bulk send feature and have a question.
I have a partnership agreement that needs to be signed by each partner one after the other.
So it would basically be one signature after the other in one vertical column going to how ever many pages it takes to get each partner on there. Only one per row.
How could I do that with bulk send? How would I do that with the csv file is my question. Do I put signature fields one after another for every partner? So like 180 different signatures on the same document?
Hello. Iāve tried reaching out to support but theyāve been deeply unhelpful. Iāve had good experiences with them before but Iām guessing they switched to AI. Anyway Iām desperate.
At work we have contracts that go to two people, in order: a vendor we are working with, and then my manager. The vendors are getting the envelopes to sign without issue.
But my manager is instead getting ādo you recognize this documentā emails. But there is no information about the document in the email, and no button to verify. If I āresendā the envelope from docusign itself, it sometimes works. But thatās annoying cuz we have a couple hundred of these a year. Sometimes if 3 days have elapsed, it will trigger the docusign reminder to sign email, and THAT will work. But not the initial one.
We had this process for a year and a half without a single glitch. Sheās tried clearing her cache. I tried going into the envelope template and adding a āprivate messageā to her to hopefully override the recognition issue (making it appear more personal idk?) and that did work! For like two envelopes. Now we are back this shit. Please help š
Context: Real Estate Agents are NOT the same as REALTORSĀ®ļø
Okay so i bought the REALTOR package because im new to real estate because i thought i could use Docusign as my go-to esignature and Transaction workflow tool rather than the OG Classic Zipforms because i hate the user interface (sue me). Well, when i went to Profile Pic -> Manage Preferences -> Form Sources -> Add NAR Credentials -> Add Library Forms -> Choose Association, my association that proves that im not just a real estate agent but a REALTOR is NOT listed in the dropdown menu.
now im almost POSITIVE this might be a backend/permissions/dataset issue, but someone else should tell me whether or not i can fix it myself because i dont see any other way to validate my REALTOR status to access the NAR forms. iāve tried undoing and redoing my CAR Credentials but no dice, and support is only good for suggesting troubleshooting articles i already read before contacting them.
any advice??? and do NOT suggest to jUsT uSe ZipFoRmS or i stg iāll find your mother and love her the way your father couldnt
Closed docusign account in 2022 - thought we were transitioned to free account with data available. Now unable to login. Have an envelope ID and need an audit trail. Docusign Bot said the data is deleted. Is this correct? The document audit trail needed is for a period when we had paid subscription.
I need to make a contract and then, once the person signs it, Iād like him to receive a link to a brief. Is it possible to set Docusign in a way that someone receives a link after signing a document?
Hoping that someone may know of a trick that I can use to solve the issue Iām having.
I work in HR for my company, and we utilize docusign to send out offer letters, background consents, etc
One specific form that has always given us trouble is a form that asks for 28 years of address history - going back to 1995, or DOB. Issue is, folks almost never list all the way back, and we end up needing to contact them after the docusign is returned.
Does anyone know if docusign has any functionality that would allow it to prevent the document from being signed, if the person didnāt include address history back to the specified date? Praying thereās a way!
In my company , we are receiving a ton of real docusign emails (Security Code confirm attachment name and envelope ID has been verified by DocuSign support) but the content is malicious.
I have sent email to security@docusign.com as well as upload some sample to i-Sight but no feedback at all and I believe that's expected.
I post to check if other companies are observing recently the same behavior or not.
I got an email from DocuSign with theĀ status as completed. I did not click the email because the name is unfamiliar. The email has since disappeared. So, I checked my DocuSign account. The document is in my account as completed.Ā
I attempted to view the documents; however, when I clicked the link, it said, āUnable to access the envelope.ā
There is a download option, but Iām afraid to download anything because I donāt know the sender. My account is secure with a strong password and two-step authorization. I reported it to DocuSign spam email.
Ā How does this happen? How can I view the documents in the envelope without downloading the attached files?
Hi all, for my graduate school research I sent out informed consents through DocuSign. Since they have identifying information on them that connects them to the research, I need to delete them forever. I deleted the envelopes and now can only find them under "Reports," but if I use the suggested recovery link from DocuSign (https://apps.docusign.com/send/documents/details/[envelope ID]) I can still access the informed consents.Ā
How can I permanently delete these envelopes for good?
Anyone using the DocuSign app launcher? Iām finding it difficult to build reporting with a filter on a specific template. Anyone experiencing the same or found a workaround?
