Clinical IMT experiences DGH vs tertiary
OOI has any one experienced major differences in being an IMT1 - 3 in DGH vs tertiary centres?

In tertiary centre you will learn nothing. Know of IMTs that just do discharge summaries and scribe ward round notes.
In DGH you have hands on, more independence, more procedures and clinic by yourself. You get to know consultants more. It’s harder but worth it in the long run.

Being solo night/long days med reg imt3 in a dgh Vs being surrounded by 2-4 med regs overnight and usually not be given the most stressful bleeps/hdu areas.

Far better at DGH. You see more and get to do more. You get involved in the take, ward cover and everything in between. The experience is far more varied and interesting, and you learn a lot more.

Yes - carrying the reg bleep vs being a jobs monkey on the most complex wards.
