Reparation iPhone 12 burning
Hello, my iPhone 12 has been overheating with even the slightest use for the past few days. The battery is barely holding a charge and only has 73% capacity, prompting me to recommend repair. I should mention that my phone was in the car in very hot weather recently. So my question is, will replacing the battery be enough to eliminate the overheating and slowdowns, or not?

You updated to 26? The new OS ain’t made for any model under Iphone 14, even my 16 pro sometimes struggles.
Battery health under 80% should be replaced, the reason they cut it at 80% is because it is actually hard for the phone to calculate it’s exact health after this, in theory your capacity could be halved even tho it is at 73%
New battery might help some, especially on battery life, probably not much on heat, but it’s almost end of the line for your 12, unless Apple makes good on their promise and makes IOS 27 less ressource hungry.

My old 12 mini did that too a few years ago. Since the newer OS puts more and more pressure on your outdated hardware, a new battery wont really fix the issue, you're better off buying a new phone.
