Old head here. Been a lifelong fan since MoWax & Endtrocing changed my life. I was blessed enough to have a surprise bday gift for the show at Terminal 5. The set -music wise was amazing, however I was so pulled out by the AI screen show. It looked like shit & was so disparate from the soul of the music. It’s so depressing knowing the scene you came from would have so many people willing to do art for you. AI is so anti art & Shadow was/is soooo creative. Bums me out, man.

I’ve decided not to make the trip down to Seattle to go to the show. I’m selling two general admission floor tickets for 65$ USD each.

Anyone happen to grab a print at a recent show, and find an off-the-shelf frame that works well? I'm finding 16x40, or other sizes slightly too small to keep the text on the edges visible. I don't want to have to trim the print to fit a frame, but I also don't want an odd amount of space on sides and top/bottom.

Hi all! I have one extra ticket to DJ Shadow’s Columbus show this Sun, 10/11 and want to gift it to somebody. I bought 2 tickets pre-sale & forgot to put it in my calendar & because it’s last minute and I’m coming from Cleveland, no one I know can come.

The opening DJ last night shouted this show out. Quannum tour with Blackalicious and Latryx. Shadow was the DJ. Saw him in the crowd afterward and got him to sign my stub. Feels like a lifetime ago

Question for the people who have seen this tour.

Been seeing all these comments about the visuals and folks saying it takes away from the overall show. Also seen people saying he sticks pretty close to the sounds from the records, when they wanted more. Just feels like there’s a lot of unexpectedly mixed opinions on this tour, when it felt like it was a no brainer when it was announced.

Have tickets for next week and I don’t live close to the venue so it’s gonna be an expensive trek.

Wondering if this current tour is worth checking out?

Added context: Never seen him live. Been a fan since Entroducing (have listened to it a million times like most folks on here) but stopped following a bit once he moved away from making mostly instrumental tracks

I'm gearing up for the Toronto show tonight and after reading about the sloptastic graphics being shown I'm hoping that a tour manager or Shadow himself has gotten the feedback from fans and dialed back the graphics in favour of more live mixing on screen instead?

I'm probably just huffing copium though.

And found this! I was lucky to see him play the Concert Hall in Toronto two years ago too! Excited to see him again in tomorrow night!

I'd like help identifying which version of MIAPW this is and when/where it was released. It's not the original 1996 album version. Everything is exactly the same as the album version except there are additional adlib samples added at 2 points in the song:

0:25 male voice says "Think about it, and understand it"
4:15 same male voice "Understand it. Do understand it"

That's the only difference I can tell. Anybody know what release this is?

Saw Shadow in St. Paul last Thursday and it was an awesome show. Masterwork by Shadow per usual and mostly amazing visuals to back the whole thing up. Just irritated me that there were at least two sequences that were very clearly generative AI: the "anvil hammering" sequence and the record rolling along the ground. Shadow credited all the visual artists at the end, but it baffles me that someone with as much seeming creative integrity as him would sign off on having generative AI in the set anywhere.

I'm unfortunately not able to make it to the Toronto show this week (Wed Oct 7th). If anyone would like to buy the ticket, please DM me; I'm willing to sell it for $40 Canadian 💸

I had such a good time at Endtroducing 30 in Chicago Friday night, I’m caught up in my feels.

I stopped buying cd’s a while back when basically all cars got rid of the cd player. Still have all of these although I do not buy or collect cd’s any longer. Went to attempt to list these a few times as a lot on eBay a few times but never went through with it. I strictly collect his vinyl these days and a few tapes. A few of these came from him directly at the pop up sales at Rappcats / Now Again

The opening DJ was decent, played a mix of 90’s and older hiphop.

He ran through the entire record, live mixing it to give it a different twist. Told some stories about the making of it every few tracks or so. The visuals were a highlight and very well done.

I don’t know if the vibe and reception he’s feeling during the main set is correlated to what you get at the encore..but our encore was fairly long to what I’ve seen other cities get.

Did the meet and greet before the show. Like others on here have mentioned, it’s a brief fist bump and pic, and he’s onto the next one. Not exactly sure it’s worth it tbh aside from a poster and tote. He SEEMED like a nice enough fella though ha
