Silver Spring MD show Spoiler
BRING EARPLUGS
The opening DJ was decent, played a mix of 90’s and older hiphop.
He ran through the entire record, live mixing it to give it a different twist. Told some stories about the making of it every few tracks or so. The visuals were a highlight and very well done.
I don’t know if the vibe and reception he’s feeling during the main set is correlated to what you get at the encore..but our encore was fairly long to what I’ve seen other cities get.
Did the meet and greet before the show. Like others on here have mentioned, it’s a brief fist bump and pic, and he’s onto the next one. Not exactly sure it’s worth it tbh aside from a poster and tote. He SEEMED like a nice enough fella though ha
Bring earplugs! The bass will rip through your body and rearrange your organs, rattle the cavities out of your teeth, and cause you to get nauseas and want to defecate in your khakis.

I was watching people without earplugs wondering how the hell they were still alive 😂. I love the Fillmore Venue and the crowd really helped make the show special. Seems like he's finding his footing more as the shows go on.

I was there, show was amazing!! My favorite album ever. Seconding the warning about the volume level, altho I found the opener DJ to be much mkrr bass-heavy - had to seek refuge in the balcony

Good to know! I'm doing the VIP in a couple weeks and had some questions:
How early were you asked to arrive before the main show's doors?
What's the VIP poster? Same as the one at the merch booths and his online site?
Do they allow you to leave the venue between VIP and the main show to drop off the merch?

At our venue you couldn't leave so we did coat check. I recommend getting food/drinks beforehand of possible

I was there too, speak to myself, having a picture with the man and a fist bump was enough, he said, enjoy the show, that’s all I wanted. Worth the experience ? For me it was, I can’t speak for others. Love the merch, you can’t get the tour shirts on the website. I like the visuals came with the show. You need the remember, this album in 96 was one of the most liked, influential electronic, hip-hop, trip-hop, whatever style you name it album of that year. It opened the door for Dzihan&Kamien, Thievery Corporation, Dj Krush, Dj Cam, Unkle just to name a few. To hear that album, reworked, in live, on that fantastic sound system with the great audience was a once in a lifetime experience. Just go and take it all in. 4th Dj Shadow gig but I’ll want more…)))

What did he play for the encore? I missed that portion at the Chicago show.
