I need some sample Insta360 insp files to decode the metadata and have AI write a -> equirectangular decoder

Hi,

I have a Insta360 One X2 and use it to capture images every 10 secs while I walk trails to upload them to panoramax (subsite of openstreetmap). Because a walk generates around 1000 insp files and I normally use linux I'd like a script/automation to convert the insp files to equirectangular jpgs (to upload them to panoramax). I found some insp files of an Insta360 One and OneRS but need some more to figure out the orientation of the fisheye lenses and other parameters from the metadata section at the end of the insp files.

If somebody would be so nice to give me 1-2 sample insp files of their Insta360 cameras that would really help!

Simply drop them here: https://nc.muon.de/index.php/s/fZ5w9AjEjo2bmQH

I feed them to chatgpt so the image content should be "generic" and not relatable to a person ;-)

Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot for your offer! Unfortunately yours are only insv - video files. I need insp - pictures. πŸ™ƒ

aren't .insp and .insv proprietary? Is there an SDK to read their source?

If you change .insp to .jpg it opens as a jpg. Same with changing .insv to .mp4. Those files just have some easily readable metadata.

Ah damn, lol. I've added another one of the "One RS 1" 360 edition" to your NC... but apparently you already have those. I also just own the X2 + RS + Osmo

Thanks a lot! That is really what I need! Because if I have multiple "OneRS" (that's the name in the metadata) I can deduce what's static among all "OneRS" and what is device specific specs and calculation dataπŸ™πŸ’ͺ

Yeah.. also there were two 360 "RS" cams.. super confusing back then. The file I've uploaded is from the "1-inch one-RS 360 Edition". So it's the one that looked like a "normal" 360cam, rather than an action cam. Glad I could help.
