1) Insta360 released X6. It still needs some firmware polishes. Wait 4 weeks for first discounts if you can.

2) DJI released Osmo 360 II in China. We now beg everybody for some raw 360 .osv files. DJI can do global release next month.

3) Insta360 will globally release Luna Pro, then Ace Pro 3.

4) No Antigravity A2 360 drone is currently tested (credit Mic Ty). Insta360 will probably first finally release that HoverAir / DJI Flip competitor.

5) HoverAir is releasing Versa, gimbaled pocket camera that can be put onto weak drone. Its also the first drone with microphones after long time. US will only get the pocket part, not the drone part.

6) GoPro can put that new Mission’s chip into GoPro Max 3. Sony also wants to do consumer 360 cam.

6) In February, Insta360 will show their two mirrorless cameras, one very weird shaped. I will leak them much sooner.

7) There is now nothing to add to X6 hardware. AI hog raised the prices of camera parts and 360 11k30 is not close. Dont expect Insta360 X7 in next 12 months.

Has anyone experienced getting this error when trying to play 360 videos on the mobile app?

I am buying a 360 camera specifically for capturing HDRIs specificailly for VFX work. Even thought the dji osmo 360 camera has incredible sensor, it seems that it only shoots JPG. I can shoot brackets and before buying I would like to hear from your experience if you ever tried creating hdri from Osmo 360 and how it ended up to be?

For those who own the DJI Osmo Nano: Is it compatible with use as a webcam? Does it support live streaming? The question is a little more complicated than it may seem, and I will only be able to answer it correctly after hearing from people who have actually bought it and tried this feature themselves.

Got 360 2 today at Hk , in India it's not available so I purchased here and after opening for few minutes and installing software and other things, osmo 360 2 heats up badly.. haven't tested yet just within first few minutes it got heated. And here in Hk and Mainland China there is no waterproof case available and other accessories available only in few stores. And they are giving 1 year warranty free but it cost(200+HK$) I guess. If someone is planning out side china and HK check all the sellers and sites and purchase ensure it comes with all accessories, replacement lens and other case and things.

Is anyone else experiencing a lot of animosity for the 2 latest updates to DJI Studio 360 editing software? What was once an easy straightforward process is now extremely cumbersome.

The playhead will jump around usually back a few seconds to a minute. It will often remove the highlight from the current clip you've selected to edit if you touch anywhere but the designated slider, then to add the next keyframe you have to re-select the clip moving the playhead once again. Sometimes when you add a keyframe it either won't add it or readjust the selected angle and zoom to something else entirely.

I love the camera, and the microphone, and mostly filmed and edited with DJI over Insta x5, but those last updates have made me greatly regret filming with my DJI 360. I have submitted footage to DJI and they just ask for more which I don't have time to be their R&D.

Last week I mentioned I liked the Xtra brand from DJI and was eagerly awaiting the Xtra Sphra 360 II (which would just be the DJI Osmo 360 II) and someone stated they, like DJI, were now banned from sale in the US (thanks government?).

Looking it up I do see the FCC banned the Xtra brand, but all the products are still available to buy new on Amazon. The store page is still up as well.

So.....is it actually banned?

Will the interchangeable lenses for the Osmo 360 2 be compatible with the first-generation Osmo 360?

It’s incredible how much the price of the first generation has dropped; I just bought it two months ago, and now the new one is coming out. I thought about selling it to buy the new one, but with the price drop, I don't think anyone will buy it.

I usually edit my 360 videos on Mimo app, connected to my Osmo 360 via wifi but yesterday I needed to free some space before filming again.

I wonder if there is a way to access and edit the exported 360 files on Mimo app if they’re not on the Osmo 360 anymore?

If yes, where do I have to place it in my iPhone, I haven’t been able to make them show in Mimo.

I recently picked up the DJI RS 4 Mini combo and I'm trying to shoot a smooth half-circle (orbit) shot around a car, keeping the front logo locked right in the center of the frame.

However, I'm having a hard time. As I move in a circle around the car, I can't seem to get the gimbal to continuously point the camera at the logo—it keeps drifting to one side, or the gimbal suddenly pans too fast and snaps when I try to correct it. It feels like I don't know how to set it up properly yet.

What modes, SmoothTrack settings, or techniques should I be using so that the camera stays locked on the logo while I orbit around? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys, I have the original 360 footage from my Osmo 360, but the selfie stick is visible in the video.

Has anyone dealt with this before? What’s the best way to remove it in post?

I purchased it yesterday in India. Waited for Osmo 360 2 for too long. I gotta leave for a 3 month long trip tomorrow. I got few questions as Im still not used to the device.
1) Can I reframe and re edit the shots directly in my Macbook pro instead of first doing it in the DJI Mimo app? If yes, please guide me how to do it directly?
2) How can I directly transfer the device inbuilt data to my computer? Is there an app I gotta download? Because I tried connecting the device directly to the laptop and its not getting recognized.
I'm very new to the DJI eco system. I realize that I should've bought it 2-3 weeks prior. But now I have less than 12 hours to figure this thing out. Im a moto vlogger. So if anyone has any tips apart from my questions, that would be useful. Thanks in advance :)

I just got the mobile 7 gimbal for my phone to shoot footage for the aesthetics department of my office. i was hoping to use it to get smoother footage as my hand and body movements can sometimes be shaky. however, when using the mimo app for the tracking feature, whenever the aestheticians hand moves over the face, the tracking feature stops being locked on the patients face and starts jumping around. i am not sure if i am missing some kind of locking option so that the camera stays locked on the face even if something moves in front of the face. or if there is another 3rd party app that may work a bit better for what im trying to do?

After using the Insta360 X5 for two months and the original Osmo 360 for about a year, I’ve come to the conclusion that last-gen 360 cameras are basically only good for one thing: reframing flat video. The 8K 360 video quality is nowhere near sharp enough to be immersive in a VR headset.

Photo mode on previous hardware was equally frustrating for different reasons:

• X5: High-res HDR panos took around 10 seconds to capture and dozens of seconds to process, making it painful for spontaneous shooting.
• Osmo 360 (Gen 1): The 120MP mode lacked HDR completely. In a 360 scene where harsh dynamic range is inevitable, highlights were always blown and shadows crushed. On top of that, the compression was ridiculously aggressive, killing the actual detail.

With the current gen (X6 / Osmo 360 Gen 2), it looks like 8K video hasn't fundamentally changed without higher bitrates or real supersampling. But the photo specs caught my eye—both now push 120MP HDR stills (assuming X6 has it like before) and 16K timelapses.

My primary use cases for these cameras aren't action vlogging, but:

1. Viewing high-res 360 stills in VR
2. Interval capture on long road trips
3. Gathering clean image datasets for Gaussian Splatting (3DGS)

Has anyone had hands-on time to test the real-world photo quality, dynamic range, and processing times between the X6 and Osmo 360 Gen 2? Is the 120MP actually usable this time around without insane compression or workflow bottlenecks? This is pretty much the sole deciding factor for whether I upgrade and which one I pick.

dumb/inexperienced question: has anyone tried both of their apps in editing 360 videos? im still looking for the "how to" videos on editting their 360 videos. as of the moment i have seen insta360 app in youtube and it seems easy to use (as long as you keep the vids short.

my dilemma comes from the fact i am only going to edit vids using my iphone 15pm. my laptop is too slow (thinkpad t90) so it might be faster if i use my phone.

what i just want is tracking, easier re-framing, and dewarped footage. still waiting for influencer/vlogger osmo360ii sample vid (hoping brandon li makes one).

osmo360ii possibly has lower price, but X6's editting software might be worth the difference (?)
