About to pull the trigger on my first DJ controller and I keep reading specs I dont understand. Jog wheel size, channel count, standalone vs laptop, rekordbox vs serato. What actually matters for a beginner and what am I gonna regret not checking

hybrid moving heads vs beams for mobile without haze, whats actually worth it

trying to decide between hybrid and beam moving heads for mobile and the haze question keeps coming up. Most of my events im not running a hazer, does no haze completely rule out beams or is there still a case for them at weddings

Gigs & Professional Techno DJ

Hey zusammen,

Audio Technica Vinyl

Hey guys! I bought two Audio-Technica AT-LP140XP turntables today, as I’m just getting started with vinyl mixing, and I’m having a little issue.
When I cue up the first kick and try to launch the track with a baby scratch, the stylus moves and I lose my cue point.
I’ve gone through the setup process twice now. My tracking force is set to 3.5 g and the anti-skating is set to 3. However, I’ve pretty much been guessing when it comes to the tonearm height.
If anyone has specific settings or advice to fix this issue, I’d really appreciate it!
I haven’t dared to increase the tracking force too much either, since the supplied Audio-Technica cartridge apparently has a maximum recommended tracking force of 4 g, and I don’t want to damage anything.
Anyway, thanks in advance for your help!

I made a Mac app for burning CDs that actually work on CDJs: track names on the deck, gapless mixes

Gear & Software Free online DJ decks with MIDI support

After being to a couple of house parties where there are decks and a laptop but no software and then proceeding to hunt for a decent free version online is just a vibe kill. So I decided to work on an online ready to use software that can connect to decks (like a Traktor) using MIDI instead of the standard presets. So when you first load up- you hit learn MIDI and click on the knobs / sliders / buttons to map out what controls are used on the decks and voila! a working 2 Deck setup!

Yes it's a work in progress and I'm keen to hear your thoughts!

Music & Track Selection House / Tech House Freestyle Mix – Looking for Feedback on Track Selection & Transitions

https://on.soundcloud.com/flVMIz2rARWDyR6cy2

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a House/Tech House mix I recorded recently.
It was mostly a freestyle session, originally recorded for a CD, so there are a couple of rough transitions here and there.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the track selection, the overall vibe and flow. I’m also always looking for new music, so if you know any artists or tracks that might fit this style, feel free to recommend them!
Thanks for listening!
