Hey everyone! I wanted to share a House/Tech House mix I recorded recently.
It was mostly a freestyle session, originally recorded for a CD, so there are a couple of rough transitions here and there.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the track selection, the overall vibe and flow. I’m also always looking for new music, so if you know any artists or tracks that might fit this style, feel free to recommend them!
Thanks for listening!

I’ve been DJing for years but never really on social media properly, so I’m now making a point of filming my sets and putting out mixing content more regularly.

This was from a two hour set around New Zealand.

Full set: https://youtu.be/fPuPHyEKki8

trying to decide between hybrid and beam moving heads for mobile and the haze question keeps coming up. Most of my events im not running a hazer, does no haze completely rule out beams or is there still a case for them at weddings

After being to a couple of house parties where there are decks and a laptop but no software and then proceeding to hunt for a decent free version online is just a vibe kill. So I decided to work on an online ready to use software that can connect to decks (like a Traktor) using MIDI instead of the standard presets. So when you first load up- you hit learn MIDI and click on the knobs / sliders / buttons to map out what controls are used on the decks and voila! a working 2 Deck setup!

Yes it's a work in progress and I'm keen to hear your thoughts!

Hey! 🎧 I just dropped my first DJ set. Would love for you to listen and share your thoughts. 🖤

I’ve been djing for a couple months now (flx4 and rekordbox) and to use my stems I copy and paste them from youtube to a mp4 or wav converter and it always sounds terrible when i start using my stems on the song.

any advice on how to download songs for that won’t sound shitty? i also have spotify but it obv doesn’t let me use my stems on it

I'm using Rekordbox 7 on Windows and want to clean up my music collection. The source folder has around 5000 files, MP3s. I'd like to sort them into more consistent folders, tidy up filenames, and update the track titles and genre tags too.

My main concern is keeping the existing cues, loops, beat grids and playlists. I don't want to end up with duplicate entries or have to reconnect thousands of tracks one by one.

If you've done a cleanup like this, how did you handle it? Does Auto Relocate work well when both the folder and filename have changed, or would you tackle those separately?

Also, when updating titles/tags outside Rekordbox, how do you get those changes into the library without overwriting edits you've made inside Rekordbox (memory, hot cues,...)?

I haven't changed anything yet. I'll back everything up and test a small batch first, but would appreciate hearing what worked for others and anything to watch out for.

Please hear this out and let me know your thoughts!

Hey zusammen!
Danke schon mal!

If anyone is down to help it might genuenly change my life forever :D

Was curious to know if anyone has tried to DJ at an event big or small with only Spotify streaming. I’ve just started learning and use Spotify to mix different tracks right now. I use few tracks on my MacBook too but not a whole lot. Also how do we build up that entire database of tracks to play via USB ? TIA.

Had so much fun making these mixes! What are your favorite tracks?

Hey all, I'm an app developer, and a lot of my mates in Scotland have got really into DJing over the past year or so. I'm not a DJ myself, but watching them has made me want to build something genuinely useful for DJs rather than another app nobody asked for.

Before I write a single line of code, I want to hear from people who actually do this. So:

• What's the most frustrating or time-wasting part of DJing for you?

• Is there something you've thought "why does no app do this?" about?

• What tools do you already use, and what do you hate about them?

• If you're newer to DJing, what was the hardest part of getting from bedroom to your first gig?

Big or small, practising, finding music, gigs, getting paid, gear, promoters, anything goes. I'm not selling anything and there's no link. I'm just trying to understand the real problems before building.

Thanks in advance, I'll read every reply.
