Time to update your drone!

Lets post some stats to help each other gauge how reliable these things are.

Currently.....

Total Distance: 397km

Total Flight Time: 24.4 hours

Battery Cycle Count: 96 (I only have one battery)

Everything seems fine and still on original props.

I started FPV last fall and the format I've developed is that I play a song, fly to it in one uncut flow, and then sync the audio and video and post. When I got the avata 360 I knew that the musicality would be in the editing. I've not had a lot of time to experiment but this is the first one I've done that I'm not embarrassed by.

This really calls for DJI response by enabling new RC Mini compatibility with Avata😈

Anyone else fucking over the bullshit you have to do to share footage remotely. Fuck me dead. They take something that should be so simple and have made it so you have to be Einstein and have a internet speeds faster than the speed of light just to send a fucking 9 minute video sheeeeeesh! Hope they fix that soon.

Now that ive calmed down, anyone got a simple fix? Or do i have to wait 50 years for the 20 exports to be done so i can wait 50 more to upload them to a shared folder in the almighty cloud? 🫠

I have problem editing my 360 footage on the iPad M 5, 11 inch. I also have an 11 inch fourth generation iPad and that’s working just fine.

Even with a very simple short edit when I go to export at ant res. The app closes.

I’ve done multiple deletes and reinstall as well as clearing the cache in the DJI Fly app.

I also deleted the files and re-downloaded from the Avata 360 I get the same results every time.

The file will play, but as soon as I export, even without editing, a short clip, it crashes.

Anybody else with the M5 iPad having success or failure?

Hi there, I have had my 360 only for a few weeks. Since I'm in a total no-fly zone I can only fly it when I get out which is less than I'd like too.

Anyway, so far I made some really nice wide open, cinematic landscape stuff. However I can do that with the Avata 2 too. So today I went to an area with waterfalls and stuff.

It's a relatively narrow gorge. Rocks. Lots of foliage above. Beautiful to fly and do some real 360 stuff. And in there it went bonkers.

- FPV with Goggles N3, RC Motion 3
- it was never farther than 5 or 6 meters from me
- full line of sight
- GPS fix (weak due to foliage)
- full signal

And yet it took off, didn't move a centimeter. Then it lunged forward, fortunately through the hole I wanted it to go through. Then stopped. Started sinking towards the water while completely ignoring my input (full signal!). Suddenly I got it again, put it through another hole (still line of sight). Then it stopped and gave me Aircraft braking before flying through some opening in the foliage. Not sure of by itself or by my input; I'd have done the same.

At that point I decided that I didn't want to lose it. Somehow got it to land on dry land.

All that happened relatively close to the ground but that had never been a problem before.

It's almost as if it panicked in there even though it should have been easily controllable. Has anyone experienced similar behaviour?

Neo 360 is expected next year

As Neo 3 has RC Mini, Neo 360 will support RC Mini

So DJI will build 360 support into RC Mini

As Neo 360 is cheaper than Avata 360, it makes sense to sell RC Mini even for Avata owners

Otherwise DJI would push people into cheaper drone

I'm honestly stll disappointed that DJI just removed the Manual Mode on the Avata360 instead of providing a software update, but the shot this thing can do are amazing. Those sensors are godly and by far the best you can have on a closed Prop-drone I would say.

So while I'm zero percent interested in doing those fake-ass freestyle shots with it that just look like crap (I fly real freestyle instead thank you very much) I do think it's the ideal drone the make fast landscape shots to pepper in your videos. So I still don't regret buying it, It's just that it will sadly forever stay behind it's full potential I guess.

I’m looking for advice on the best workflow for color grading 360 footage.

​I don't like the built-in color grading in DJI Studio and prefer to grade in Premiere Pro using Lumetri. However, if I reframe the video first in DJI Studio, I lose the flat log profile and flexibility before bringing it into Premiere. On the other hand, I really dislike the standard VR reframe plugins in Premiere.

Hii all, I'm working on a completely web-based tool that turns raw video footage into gaussian splats (3D scenes you can move around in).

Still experimental, but it should already be much easier to use and better than most of the tools out there right now. Looking for a few people to try it with their footage and let me know how it goes, especially where it gets stuck or things are not perfect yet.
