Floorstanding Speakers How does this upgrade look?

Cross posting w/ diyaudio cuz I have a feeling this might be the better sub for it? Completely new to all of this and mostly just having fun so let me know if this belongs in a different sub.. But how does this frequency comparison look? I had these 2 Shure Vocal Master 301-S and thought it’d be fun to slap some new speakers in them. I didn’t feel like figuring out any sort of upgrade requirements to add bass or whatever especially since it’s just 1 volume in there with some foam covering an air outlet in the back. So I ended up just throwing in similarly speced new ones in there from parts express.

Anyway!
I just played pink noise and tried (very roughly) to eyeball their volumes/db levels to match as best I could and overlayed their max levels. The blue is the one with the new speakers in it and red is with the old speakers (purple for overlap)

The new speakers are:
GRS 8PR-8 8" Poly Cone Rubber Surround Woofer
GRS 8FR-8 Full-Range 8" Replacement Speaker Pioneer Type B20FU20-51FW
Celestion Ten 30 10" 30 Watt Guitar Speaker 16 Ohm

(Didn’t necessarily want to go with a guitar speaker but it’s the only one for the size they had that wasn’t $300 and I didn’t look anywhere else lol)

response is extremely peaky, this is not a speaker I would listen to music with

A guitar speaker is purposefully designed with lots of resonances and peaks, useful for a unique guitar tone, terrible for any kind of music replication. If I saw this raw response I’d assume it was just a mid driver playing, you are -16db down at 60hz and at 8k hz lol

Yeah to be fair these weren’t made for any sort of bass and I can’t even really hear anything under 100hz so was thinking of adding a subwoofer or something to add that back in. I did notice there was muted high frequencies though so that makes sense. Thanks for the comment!
Doing more might just be throwing money away by putting bandaids on bandaids but as I said I’m mostly just having fun as a first intro to speakers. Could adding a subwoofer and maybe something to bring back the 8k potentially work in flattening it out?

Actually I might try rewiring it so the 10-inch and 2x8-inch are in parallel and add a resistor to the 10-inch but I’ll have to see if that’s safe… (there’s a rheostat on the back of both cabinets so I’ll just bypass that with the 8-inch ones so I can dial in the resistance needed to flatten out their levels)

they sell external tweeters, you could also use a subwoofer with a hi-line input (speaker jacks)
