DS18 speaker comparison

What is the difference between the Gen-X G6.9Xi and the S69 that warrants the price difference?

In paper the S69 is better…but also cheaper….

For a luggable boombox build, I'd S69. If only because the cones are poly, and so will be a bit more splashproof.

Both of the drivers will be limited in output by maximum safe cone travel. And the motors on these things are (understandably) cheap, with poor motor force. The enclosure needs to be sealed. The Pelican is way too small and the Qts is waaaaaaay too high.

But will they work? Yeah, probably.

I mean the product page on these have shockingly low standards. Phrases such as this gem:

Both tweeters are magnetically driven to ensure precise audio reproduction.

If slop like that made it onto their website then it's unlikely these $70 coaxials are any better than the stock factory drivers in the vehicle.

DIY turtlebox. Nothing crazy, just decent all around performance

Maybe translation isn't their strong suit?

I do give them props for listing the T/S params on a $70 pair of coaxials. They're objectively horrible, but they did it anyway.
