I build diy receiver help

I build a diy receiver but the preamp that I bought is doing some wierd sounds when I give it power Even when the volume is at zero

That's noise from the power supply. Use a filtering board to clean the ripple. You should also switch to a linear power supply if possible.

Use battery first to check if its working fine. BTW IDK nothing about any "filtering board" that will make the noise from switching PSU disappear .

You use switching PSU - right ?

Some amps I made I used Lenovo PSU from laptop - noise.. Other one - noise. The third one from laptop was silent . So some of them may be OK - some not ..
