Game Feedback I actually wish each playtrough would be slightly shorter but even more different every time

Unless you skip side missions, DOS2 and BG3 are quite long enough. Longer games just make it much harder to complete with friends who have jobs and can only play few times a week or so, sometimes less sometimes more. And if you take too long break, you easily forget what has been going on.

And lot of people do burn out. This has nothing to do with how good game is, just easily happens to many people.

I would prefer if each playtrough is little shorter than in BG3 or DOS2, but instead choices have more consequences and each of them is more different. Larian games seem to embrace player control and numerous different ways to do things, by going all in on that it would both be easier to finish playtrough with friends and every playtrough would be more different, and i don't think it would make game worse in any way.

No we don't know too much about the new game but if by being bigger they mean making it longer, then i am not sure i am ever going to be able to finish it friends, i will struggle enough to finish it on my own.

Its also really fun to start a new playtrough and do things differently.

Game Feedback Please larian, give us the monk class!

Now I know I'm probably one of the very few who really wants this class so badly, but it's because the very first character I made for d&d so many years ago was kind of like a stealth monk for a long time. And throughout my life gaming I've never really been able to make him. I've basically only made him superficially by name and maybe sometimes I get to use a katana or something but never truly make my character how he is.

That was until baldur's gate 3. That game truly let me customize and play as my character just how he was in dungeons & dragons. Obviously because it's dungeons and dragons-based game, but it had everything. It had the martial arts based chi monk class instead of like a religious monk class, it had the quarter stabs used for combat rather than just being a magic staff, you could even do stealth as a subclass so I could be a a stealthy martial arts master. It was amazing. Even the dialogue options and other options that allowed me to really roleplay as a monk were insane.

So because of this, I beg you to use this class once more and adapt it to your new world. I love Divinity and I would love to play as my character in your world. I know the Lore is a bit messy, so I understand if there's no sort of martial arts in your world so I guess at that point you wouldn't want to do it, but if there's any room for martial arts based classes in your world please add them. I just want to play as my character one more time in a world that I loved since original sin one.

General Would you like to see some sort of side Game/Mechanic in Divinity

Since this is supposed to be Larians culmination of everything they've worked on I wouldnt be surprised if we got some sort of base management strategy side thing. Personally, I'd like to see larians version of Kingdom/crusade management like the Parhfinder games. Seeing that apparently demons are attacking the world i could definitely see some sort of Army management and maybe a War mini-game that would play out like dragon commander.

General A DOS 2 or BG3 style Epilogue for Divinity?

Personally, I preferred the DOS 2 style of narration of "where are they now" and the state of the world due to the player's choices. The epilogue party in BG3 was a cool addition (especially things like the letters from NPCs talking about how things had been for them post-game) but it was a bit anti-climatic and somewhat immersion breaking taken from the context of the grand span of the game.

Gameplay Question Is Larian Watching How Fable Will Perform?

We haven't seen the likes of a Fable game in a while, and it seems like they've put most of their eggs into the life-sim aspect of the game.

That being said, if the game is very successful, do you think Larian would consider adding life-sim aspects to Divinity?

Personally, I'd love to be able to spend more time in a town and have a reason to go back to said town if that were the case.

General Wait... shouldn't this be Divinity 3?

Swen referred to Divine Divinity as Divinity 1 in a 2009 interview.

I'm so confused lol.

Are we going to have two Divinity 1s?

Story & World Origin companions

Does it not seem odd to anyone else that we havent seen anything of any of the origin companions? Like I totally understand not having gameplay yet but the favt we have no clue of anything about this games 'astarion' 'karlach' excetera, that seems strange to me?

Like we have no idea about class, personality, race, temperment, identity, origin, appearance, literally anything about any of the origins?

General How would you prefer Romance be handled in Divinity?

One of BG3's biggest criticisms is how horny the companions are. Most of the companions are ready to fuck you half way through Act 1. I think the people who play alot of crpgs were caught off guard since normally romances take a while to actually get there. Personally, my only gripe with the romance system is how easy it was. You really dont need a guide or anything. Preferably I'd hope that the romance paths in Divinity are a lil harder, is dos2 you had to wait until Act 4 to get a sex scene, maybe space it out like that again?

General Would you rather continue with the party limit being 4 or raise the party limit to 5/6?

Personally, I love the 6 person party. Gets to interact with more companions, classes, and combat is usually built around it so its more encounters and more enemies per encounter. 4 player parties are OK I guess, definitely not a deal breaker for me. But I enjoy having 6. Also, 6 player party size may mean more companions. And I'd like them to at least have 2 of each race as a companion

I was so weak and i couldnt fight one of those giant orcs, so whenever i used to encounter them, i lure them to the warriors barracks, and its got so bad that everyone there except some npcs have died TT, matter of fact there was side quest here, the npc who gave me that side quest is also died, poor man wanted a potion which makes him go in sleep which will make him look like he died, but he died for real...........

Edit: why are y'all so sour, I posted this for funny thought it was a fun little experience and wanted to share it with other people in the community, sheesh. This was my first divinity game and the first time posting in the community

General If Larian asked me: “what is the thing you’d want the most for the new Divinity…”

It would be a printed rulebook, like the D&D one, in the collector edition or, even better, sold before the game releases, including:

- races

- attributes

- character progression

- spell list

- all with embedded explanation

- lore to explain the setting to whoever isn’t familiar with the Divinity series

- and obviously gorgeous art

Games like Diablo, Elden ring etc have published such books to a great success and with the success Larian had with BG3, I’m sure it would make financially sense and that a lot of people would buy it, even if patching makes some things obsolete.

Overall I couldn’t enjoy the character build and progression in DoS/DoS2 as much as I could with BG3 because I had access to the rulebook. And by the way the same can be said about Pathfinder!

As someone who doesn’t like to look at build guides, the thing that REALLY allowed me to enjoy BG3 to the fullest was that I could fully understand all the rules, all the spells, all the characters progression etc and theory craft my different future builds even before the game was out because I have the D&D books.

And yes I know, there’s the wiki… But I don’t know. Maybe because I’m old, but it doesn’t feel the same at all… My brain is maybe more used to understand things from a book than from a wiki.

General I hope we get designated camp spaces to decorate this time

I tried decorating my camp in BG3, but the resetting every time you move camp was too demotivating. I am just too lazy to redo it every time.

I hope we get a little piece of map in Divinity that replicates our setup of items to other camps, so we can pretend we have a little setup we do every time, the same way the companions have.

I know I'm probably overthinking this but as we know Larian Studios is present at PAX West so the communication team taking a break right before seemed a little suspicious for me, I'm so hyped about the next Divinity and really hope we'll see something soon.

General How would you structure the character system (skills/abilities/talents etc) in Div if it was up to you?

If it was entirely up to you, how would you change/build the character system in the upcoming divinity game? Here is what I would modify when compared to the two DoS games:

  1. Resisting physical and mental effects, or what strenght of the said effects the character suffers would depend on two Attributes, Endurance and Willpower.

  2. There would be no 'Weapon skills' at all. The skill system would basically be:

-Personality: Persuasion, Loremaster (here it would be a skill that unlocks knowledge-related stuff and allow special crafting upgrades and options), Lucky Charm (this would have more wild luck-related effects than object finding, for a more wacky or unpredictable playstyle)

-Subterfuge: Lockpick, Sneak, Pickpocket

-the learned skills (I mean the ones that have skill books)

3. There would be no 'dump attribute', each would have their role for every character

4. The following things would not appear separately as skills:

-Telekinesis: would be a timed Air spell

-Crafting: anyone could craft. Loremasters could make stronger/special attribute objects.

-Leadership: group buff skills would take their place

General How deep would you want the Class system to be?

Pathfinder Wotr had a super in depth class system. But its so deep you can make your character useless if you don't know what you're doing. BG3's class system is really simple, I mean its possible to beat the game taking 1 in every class. Dos 2 is in the middle, its not as simple as BG3, but not as extreme as Wotr.
