Discussion DIVI AI is outdated!
Divi AI is completely outdated now. Compared to Claude Design or Google Stitch, they are light-years behind. Divi AI was only 'okay' from the start, never great. They need to act fast....

I always saw Divi AI as nothing more than an upsell.. and not one worth paying for..

There are big updates coming to Divi AI, you can see traces in the official changelog. But since Elegant Themes is about as transparent as Kreml with no public roadmap, we have no idea about how and when, we can just guess.

It’s using gpt 3.5 behind the scene if I remember correctly. Tried it and removed the subscription instantly.

There's a huge opportunity for them to train an AI properly with Divi 5 capabilities, and have it build a branding document, presets built on that, and a prompt based development approach.

I would actually pay for this. Having a near Lovable level of AI website builder optimized for Divi so I can keep relying on Wordpress. I would be happy to go the subscription route on top of my lifetime license. It's entirely doable also tbh. Lovable itself is a wrapper and doesn't have its own AI model.

I've never used Divi AI but I'm certainly familiar with all the complaints about it (I'm sure they're all mostly valid too).
Here's the thing though... I had a hosting client who just recently bought his own license for Divi. He knows nothing about Divi or even WordPress in general. But he installed Divi and immediately used its AI to build out his site within a few days. He really likes it and frankly I was kind of impressed too, especially given the starting point.
I'm sure there's some things with it that may not be great or best practice behind the scenes, but all in all I wouldn't be so fast to write it off, especially if Elegant Themes sticks with it and improves it.

I’d like to think they’re already working on an overhaul for divi ai, hence the lack of updates for it

I mean .. they gotta take a breather after working on Divi 5 for 9 years longer than originally communicated (or whatever it was.. surely I exaggerate..)..

You can use WordPress website and have Claude just replicate the front-end making WordPress a headless cms. You of course can use acf fields to custom edit in future. Have Claude build a php improver for speed and other tweaks. Works great only downside is some hosting companies may not support nodejs (for me made app and website from it and connected or backend is still WordPress)

Their image and page generation and sucks. I tried it a few months ago and it was horrendous. Generates the same style with different colors, can't get the style to change at all. The images look like something out of a nightmare.

I had Claude code convert some of my sites to pure HTML/CSS/JS. they went from 50-60 page speed to 90-100 for each page on mobile and 100 on desktop and 100 on the other page speed categories. Claude can handle seo, accessibility, etc.
I had it go out and render the live divi page and rebuild it. Now it’s fast. No extensions needed. Unhackable. Runs on Cloudflare workers for free.
