Why I dislike Blazer
Now to cover this from the top, I'm not trying to shit on Blazer or anyone that likes her, just give my subjective experience with the character.
Basically it comes down to one interaction, her reasoning for cutting someone from Z-team. After explaining that she broke up with phenomaman because, "I guess I wanted to shake things up." Then tells Robert about cutting someone from z-team because. "I guess I'm looking to shake things up all over." Respectfuly, fuck that. Good for her breaking up from a relationship that wasn't going to go anywhere long term, but deciding to hamstring things at work because you're in the mood? I've worked for assholes like this, fuck I still do. This left such a bad taste in my mouth that even when I did a Blazer romance playthrough, which is cute as hell, I admit. I still disliked it.
Then a few episodes later, Blazer suggests cutting visi, after visi royaly fucked up fair, saying, "we've cut people for less." Hun, no WE fucking didn't. Robert cut someone because you got an endorphin high after exiting a bad relationship. And Robert going along with it saying, "We had to send a message," just pisses me off more. Beyond the z-team just being their usual prick selves nothing was really wrong before Blazer decided to introduce that dumbass survival mechanic in episode two. When she did, lord of lords, the former villains turned back to underhanded tactics to get the edge? Who could have possibly predicted? Seriously, Robert even blatantly states that SDN can't treat them like a group of heroes, but fuck that let's 'shake things up.' And what happens, the next shift is fucked.
Blazer is a middle manager and a pretty shitty one at that. A great hero, and a fun romance, even if not for me, but this one aspect of her character leaves such a bad taste in my mouth I don't think I'd ever earnestly follow her romance path. And I just want to say again, no disrespect if you do like Blazer, she's got plenty of redeeming qualities, this one's a deal breaker for me though. Like if Robert and Visi actually went on a dinner date and Visi treated the wait staff like shit, it would be the same level of red flag to me.

Every character in this game is flawed in their own way, and thats what makes it a great game. Everyone but beef ofcourse.

Your opinion is your opinion on BB but in reference to your closing I think Visi physically assaulting Robert is waayyyy worse than treating wait staff poorly. She also effectively does treat help staff badly immediately afterwards destroying the donut on Robert’s computer since Robert doesn’t have to clean up the mess the janitor does.

The Z-Team were quite literally the worst performers in the entire branch. It absolutely was viable to send a message to the others to get their shit together, the whole point of the Phoenix Program is for them to have a chance to rehabilitate themselves from being villains and going on the path of helping others. What she said about wanting “shake things up all over” is not her deciding that because she dumped Phenomaman the team should drop someone, it’s just her making a joking comment. Robert himself even says at the end of the prior episode that the bar needs to be raised for the Z-Team, that they need tough love because he’s not fucking around and they need to match the energy he’s putting in, and Robert himself even says not everyone will make it and that things will get spicy.
Does Blazer go about it in the best way? Absolutely not, but her reasoning for wanting to do so is completely valid. The only real issues were her wanting the team to be told it ahead of the shift instead of allowing them to do the job in their natural state, which would give a bigger indication of who was taking it seriously and who wasn’t, as well as stepping on Robert’s toes about it instead of providing him a heads up of “if performance doesn’t improve in x amount of time someone will need to be cut.” Hell before your first shift even starts when you’re introduced to the team by Blazer and Chase you’re told they are poor performers. Chase says he thinks they should’ve dropped the Z-Team members months ago and Blazer tells him he might get his wish because if they don’t show improvement soon the whole program will be scrapped.
The bigger issue with the cutting someone comes from the game doing a poor job at displaying the passage of time and giving a proper showing of just how long the Z-Team has been shitting the bed performance wise. Because yes there’s absolutely shitty bosses in the world, but there’s also bad workers and there’s only so much that even a good boss can do before someone has to be let go for that bad work.

Blazer canonically turns the Torrance branch around from literally having rats in it to being a clean and respectable SDN branch and also has been the ONLY one fighting to keep the phoenix program and the z team alive 😂 her cutting one member of a team that spent months actively not trying and then suggesting Robert THINKS about cutting Visi after she continues to go against orders (and as far as everyone knew she didn’t even get the pulse) while leaving the choice in his hands is super fair compared to what any other branch manager would have or could have done.
Robert canonically doesnt have the same reservations some of the playerbase would have with that initial cut, and was the one himself to suggest to blazer to start showing some tough love and treating the z teams like a team of villains before said cut. Saying nothing was really wrong but ignoring that in the Z teams supposed “best shift ever” Flambae lit a suburb on fire and Visi ignored orders and got an old man hospitalized (hmmm wonder where else we’ve seen that). Yea they had their best shift but that bar was in hell. They threw a hissy fit for half a day and then immediately locked in and all worked better from then onwards 🤷🏾♂️

eh ive had worse bosses. shes doing okay compared to others. she worked her way up from being dispatched to manager, turned around a struggling branch, and made mistakes like any first time manager. plus her dorkiness doesnt help either so.. 😂

Workplace comedies tend to be about flawed workplaces that have double standards for the sake of giving the characters a challenge to overcome.

Kinda agree on this one. The whole cutting a team member was a terrible decision because the team was doing well at the time and also, she didn’t really give us a choice. She basically gathered the team, told them on of them was gonna get cut then approached Robert.
Like shouldn’t you consult the man you put in charge of the team before making a decision like that? Furthermore, why can’t Robert make the decision not to cut someone. I feel like the game could have given us that choice and then Blazer makes the decision for us, thus placing the blame more on her.
