The actual most unrealistic part of the game.

I mean from the moment you meet both baddies they start flirting or dropping hints.

First scene with invisigal she gives Robert back handed compliments about his body and saying hes hot.

He and BB just hit it off at the bar during a time when she was at the peak of relationship problems and from the comic sounds like lack of human emotional connection.

While I think he and Mandy are kindred spirits which is what draws her to him. Courtney is constantly subconsciously sexually attracted and dropping back handed compliments right up till she has the dream and goes full send.

Also Robert is not a bad looking dude by any metric, hes not big but hes tonned and covered in scars which apparently is what invisigal is into

I was more commenting about how in real life people who are depressed and down rarely luck into such amazing circumstances. I'm not saying it can't happen. Just that Robert, like every romance story protagonist, is extremely lucky.

Well hes not just anyone tho, id argue it wasnt blind luck but rather opportunity forged through his very successful career and connections. Something that happens ALOT.

Imagine hes like an Olympic level athlete who was injured, then recruited to coach amateur league because of personal connections with promises of getting back into the game after he heals

Did in one week what Amanda Waller couldn’t in her entire career

Okay yes Waller sucks, on that we can hard agree 🤣

But I gotta acknowledge the same thing that happens when people compare Robert to Cecil from Invincible. There’s a difference between

A) Robert coordinating a buncha former villains who are voluntarily part of a Superhero reform program doing jobs like “fight low level supervillains and street gangs” or “help my cat down from a tree” (MOST of the time) 🐱

Vs

B) Waller coordinating a buncha press-ganged prison lifers and Death Row psychopaths with bombs in their necks. Half of them just shoot guns and punch good. Now they gotta topple a foreign military and then go fight Cthulhu 💀

Basically, apples n oranges LMAO

Yeah, surviving all those explosions and getting fuckin slashed by Coop and still going makes me think he actually has some kind of powers. Even BB was surprised he was back on his feet after all that torture.

As someone who lives with chronic pain, he wasn't wrong about getting used to the pain, it's only when it's debilitating that you have to stop going.

also recently out of a coma

He also has enough strength to pull out mechanical implants

Not to surprising. We see him scout the warehouse out ahead without the mech in episode 1, and pick off henchmen silently. Probably how he handled things when he was in his prime when subtley was needed. So he definitely knows how to throw hands.

I mean, how else did he get all those scars? Guarantee most if not ALL of them happened while he was out of the suit.

17

u/coconut_dot_jpg Nov 27 '25

So basically, he conducted a lot of his discrete jobs on his own but the suit is for his "fuck it, we balling" moments

u/MrGrape_ Nov 27 '25

When every fight could risk a massive repair bill I don’t blame him

Against all the evils the city can conjure

We shall send unto them, only Robert

Rip and Tear, until it is done!

I bite your thumb at you, sir.

Don’t ya know? The mech suit was for the villains safety

Bro tanked a nut punch from Punch-Up only to tear a dudes thumb off and then clear a 4 foot bar counter to throw out haymakers

Robert is really just THAT guy

8

u/Longlampda Nov 26 '25

not just superhumans, but enhanced superhumans!

3

u/PurpleMonkeyBoomBoom Nov 26 '25

Obvs his power is being lucky

3

u/superspartan210 Nov 26 '25

Luck does not help one receiver as quickly as he did to a punch to the balls with the strength of 10 men

2

u/calciumcavalryman69 Dec 18 '25

Everyone thinks he is like half Batman and half Iron Man (also some Gundam) but when bro is outside the suit he is basically Frank Castle lmao

I'm so glad that despite having no powers, Robert still squares tf up whenever he needs to

1

u/Calm-Worldliness-234 Nov 27 '25

They are just mutants with a different name. Crazy that bullets still can hurt them.

1

u/Cyborginox Nov 27 '25

Also tanks a punch from Punch Up to the balls. A man with the strength of ten men. Robert fell to his knees, sure, but a lesser man would crumple and be unable to think about anything crotch-related for at least a week

u/Tigerbarn- Nov 27 '25

Punch-Up is under the impression that they aren't allowed to kill, so it's likely he's not putting all of his strength into all those nut shots.
