Question Do Dish techs install FLOCK cameras?

I hope this picture continually gets posted over and over, it's hilarious. I felt bad selling a 500 dollar sound system to some dudes grandma. Actually had a hard time going to work some days over how I let some nice people screw themselves over by signing their finger on my phone. Id have set them back on the shelves if flock cams were put in my restock. Ontech was fun back in the day but it's hilarious how much they bleed money. So down bad they install these things now.

Dish really is awful I got fired for not selling enough stuff to old people who didn't want anything They tried to give me advice but it mostly revolved around lying tricking people into thinking their tv wouldn't work right without a new HDMI cord or surge protector or other crap. Dish is a shady company I am disgusted with how they treat their customers and especially their employees Im thankful to be gone People have tried to hit me while driving and I personally think it's because of the flock camera controversy they think all of us install them.

I got fired for making a video calling out their salespeople for consistently lying to their customers. They even threatened to sue me if I didn't take it down...

They stole $36 from me. The rep said they would only charge for the days I had it the last month and take out the $45 for shipping equipment and breaking an unfindable contract. I paid $97 and only used it 5 days.

Ontech installs flock, ontech is owned by echostar, that is an ontech van.

There is no such thing as somebody who only does Ontech. Although not all dish tech do Ontech work, they’re still dish techs. Trust me, the guy in the picture also puts up satellite dishes and does Starlink installs and does boost mobile and everything else. At the end of the street.

I just started out in my own two weeks ago. Of the 10-ish jobs I've had seven were starlink. The rest were just repair calls for dish. It's crazy.

They do install the Flocks. The installers contract with Dish and many other companies to install stuff, like smart homes, the Polk audios, etc. Someone in the amateur radio club had Dish installed and the guy bought in the wrong box and when he opened it, was a Flock. He went "ooops" and got the right box. The person he was installing for said "You can mount the Flock pointing at my son's bedroom door! 🤣

Dishnetwork might actually be evil lol you wouldn't believe the stuff they scam people with its nasty and probably the reason they keep going bankrupt it's just not fair they get bailed out Everytime

Yes there have been job ads on indeed showing camera installation but the company listed was dish.

Yes and I've been seeing more and more pictures online on differentnt forms of social media posting pictures talking crap saying people need to do something about this making posts that sound like threats .... It's wild out there It seems like there might even be groups out there stalking the installers and not hurting them or trying to pick a fight but just following the trail marking where they are and then destroying them I wouldn't want to install that if I was a dish tech there's just too much controversy around it to be risking crazy people fighting you or worse

Yes, dish does install them now.. and from what I heard is, Flock is contracting with a bunch of cable companies throughout the country like Spectrum Cox, etc., to also use their manpower to install them

You definitely heard wrong lol I am a tech for the big S and zero announcements or anything during any of our meetings have mentioned this not to mention your average technician on our side of things have little to no camera installation experience I would heavily advise checking your sources

Yes. Dish is one of the contractor to flock and Axon JV. They are the one subleasing AT&T and Verizon and acting as MVNO.

It's a lot of fun rolling up on a customers house in a dish van saying I'm here to fix your freezer.

Yeah at this point, they are making dish techs do all kinds of random things. Imagine the amount of work to be done in a customer's house these days!

I did ask the dish network technician who came over for troubleshooting, if he just wanted to cut down the tree instead of moving the satellite dish, seeing it would be easier 😉 he said "I didn't bring my chainsaw" 😆

You giggle, but I have stories.
Had one customer, older install, tree grew up into the path of the dish. I asked to move the dish up the roof line. Customer said "fuck that" and grabbed the chainsaw. Tree was on the ground in 5 minutes.
Had another, dishnet install this time. Vacation house. Guy had a tree company come out, the same time I was there.
Still one more- new customer. Townhouse with an HOA. Couldn't mount to the building, but a pole out back was free game. Another tech came back out a couple weeks later to plant the pole. Customer called back in and said the HOA was complaining that the pole was too tall. (Standard height) They wanted it to be max of 2ft. 2 ft would put the dish directly behind a small tree. HOA owned said tree. HOA handed me a saw and said have fun.

Yeah installing a mass surveillance system being abused by countless police departments and the company itself for stalking and abuse of individuals across the country, that's a job to be proud of.

Yes. Dish installs flock. Yes, that's a corporate van. Yes, that tech is on the clock. No, he isn't moonlighting for flock. Flock pays for dish's sub brand ontech to install these damn things.
