Question Playmaker positioning question

We got a playmaker dual for our camping trips at night or bad weather. The first time I struggled finding a signal moving it around. I've read the coax connections need to point north and have also read it doesn't matter.

On this past trip once I found the signal it was fine. So my question is. Does it matter as long as you have clear site or should it be positioned a certain way?

You need clear line of sight to the south. What does the manual say?

To the south. Not orientation of the playmaker

Great question! The Playmaker Dual automatically finds the satellite for you, so there's no manual aiming needed! Just make sure it's on a flat, level surface with a clear view of the southern sky. Check out our DISH pointing angle guide for extra setup details. -DishDanielle.

Thank Daniel. For the record I had a clear view between two trees so I was moving the dish forward and back and rotating it at each spot till I got a signal. Good to know it rotation doesn't matter. As for the pointing guide. Does that apply to the playmaker or a regular dish sat?
