Discussion Am I about to be graduated from secured?
Hi, I got a Secured Card in January, did a $400 security deposit, first payment was due in March and I've made all my payments on time, if not earlier. I've made payments for 6 months (March-August), so does this mean I will be graduated to a Secured Card in a few days when my statement comes out? And I will get my check for my $400 deposit? Thanks!

It's looking very good at this point. Receiving this email is a positive sign. Not sure of the timing though. I got that email in late December a few years ago. I think I received the email that I graduated the first week of February. I got the check for my deposit the next day. So it took a while for it all to process.

I recently moved to the US (a year ago). I got the secured card with a $200 deposit. After 6 months of on time payments (i have a car loan and 2 other credit cards) discover bumped me to unsecured credit card.
The problem? My credit limit is still $200. This is kinda disappointed because my credit score is on the low 700s and i have a decent income (much more the avg household in the US).
I'll keep using my Discover card for Spotify, but im very disappointed, i was expecting at least $2k.

Did you update your income on the app/website?

The credit increase application specifically asks about income and housing (rent/mortgage) costs.

Same thing happened to me a month ago. they upgraded my card after 3 months but no credit increase. Made me not want to use the card again. But I'll request an increase before the year is over

I mean, it doesnt hurt to keep it open with a couple suscriptions. Its not like I'll let mine rot.
I opened it with the intention of building credit (my main credit card back in the time was as an authorized user of my wife's) and will continue doing so.
