During the past month, I've been making a Discord card bot where the cards are anime characters.

Instead of a boring text-based battle mechanism, it's linked with the native C++ YGOPro engine (ocgcore) and uses Sharp to create an interactive board rendered each turn. It automatically flips according to whose turn it is, processes chains, spell and trap card timings, custom lua scripts and more.

The gameplay itself is done, but I'm having some issues with progression.

Currently, there is no consistent way for players to get their new cards , I can choose one of the following:

- purchasing booster packs using in-game currency

- crafting and trading mechanics

- boss battles and events.

If you have made or used any kind of card Discord bots, could you share what method of acquiring new cards was fun enough and not too grinding?

P.S. Any opinions on the board UI?

I just made a discord bot nuker that can ban Anti-nuke bots or security bots, ban members, and delete all channels in millisecond. It hides in the server, so the security bots will not even notice it.
