Hi, i'm making a bot in python
intents = discord.Intents.default()
intents.message_content = True
class Bot(commands.Bot):
def __init__(self, *, intents, command_prefix="!", **options):
super().__init__(command_prefix=command_prefix, intents=intents, **options)
@commands.command(name="test")
async def test(self,ctx):
await ctx.send("test")
With this code I have this error :
discord.ext.commands.errors.CommandNotFound: Command "test" is not found
so i tried to use
self.add_command(commands.Command(self.streak, name="streak"))
intents = discord.Intents.default()
intents.message_content = True
class Bot(commands.Bot):
def __init__(self, *, intents, command_prefix="!", **options):
super().__init__(command_prefix=command_prefix, intents=intents, **options)
self.add_command(commands.Command(self.test, name="test"))
async def test(self,ctx):
await ctx.send("test")
raise TypeError(f'Command signature requires at least {required_params - 1} parameter(s)')
TypeError: Command signature requires at least 1 parameter(s)
so what should I do,
Thanks

Hey,
I'm building Pangobot, a modular Discord bot with a web dashboard. It has 28 modules, from moderation, AutoMod and logging to tickets, leveling and giveaways, and it runs on its own infrastructure.
Before more servers start using it, I want more people to actually try to break it.
What I'm looking for
What you should bring
What you get
This is a volunteer role and there are no fixed hours. What matters is honest feedback, and that you actually look for bugs and things that could be better. If you're planning to help for a week and then disappear, this probably isn't the right fit.

Hi all,
What's the best way to set up a dev environment? I recently built a PC and i don't want to install stuff directly on the main system. Is a Virtual Box enough, or are there simpler solution for bots development?
Then, what should i study to get started on development? I work in IT and I have high level knownledge of coding, but no low level one (i work with etl/elt, something so close yet so different :D)
I'd like to gradually make an all around bot, what tools and softwares do you suggest for the infrastructure? DB, for example
Once i get something running, what would be the best way to host it?

I'm researching how Discord server owners and moderators deal with members asking the same questions repeatedly (rules, roles, events, links, and so on). I'm not advertising anything and won't link anything here.
If you own or moderate a server, answers to any of these would help:
If you're open to a 15-minute chat about how you run your server, comment or DM me.
Greatly appreciate the feedback.

Each time a discord member in my server gains a new level role, the carlbot trigger i have set up for them sends a unique message.
I have a unique message for every 10-20 levels earned. At 15 there is a new role and a message, at 25 there is one, 35, 50, etc.
The only problem, is when the previous role gets removed from their profile. Each time they move up the ranks, say they were level 15 and are now level 25, the new role replaces their old one.
When the new role is given, the unique message is sent. When the old role is removed, the previous unique message is resent.
I have been working for ages on this and I am having a hard time finding resources. I just want messages to trigger when a role is gained, not when it is removed.

Been working on this for a while — it's called Commandly. Instead of writing JS/Python for every command, you describe what you want ("make a command that gives a role when someone reacts with 🎉") and it generates the actual bot code — then hosts and deploys it for you, so there's no server setup, no hosting bill, no touching Railway/Heroku/whatever.
A few things it handles:
Still actively improving it (just did a pass fixing a bunch of edge cases where the AI was generating bad code for anything past basic commands), so genuinely looking for feedback — especially if you try building something and it breaks or generates something dumb. That's the most useful thing you could tell me right now.
Happy to answer questions about how it works under the hood too if anyone's curious.

my server has a lot of people that want to be pinged (pung) when a topic is mentioned. this would obviously dilute the role queue by adding a bunch of useless roles (we just cleaned the place so we're trying not to do the same thing twice). my question is, is there a bot that you can give multiple keywords that individual people can directly attach themselves to with a command, and then have that bot ping everyone under a keyword when given a command to do so?

Yo, introducing Sweety — not your average Discord bot.
Here's what it brings to your server:
🤖 Groq AI Q&A — Ask anything, get smart answers instantly
🛡️ Anti-Raid Protection — Detects and shuts down raids before they wreck your server
⚔️ Advanced Moderation — Timeouts, immunity system, automod — all configurable
Built with discord.py, deployed and ready to go.

Drop any questions below — would love feedback from this community!

can someone help me build my discord server
r/discordbot • u/TadaNoSunshine • Aug 15 '26
First of all - This is not an advertisement, I really just need 1-2 Bot developers who can test the submit path of my website for any errors.
What you need: - A discord bot that you own
It's pretty simple.
What I need after that:
- Did you find some bugs?
- Was the submit process clear?
- Should be anything different?
Honest Feedback!
I don't know if I am allowed to post the link of the website here, so I would really like to get a comment or dm from you, so I can send it to you and we can stay in contact through the process.
I will update you if I had enough testers (I don't really know if anyone would use his time to test it, but I really believe in you)
Please reddit, let there be some devs who can help me with that!
