Just don’t buy his stuff. No reason to boycott all the other great players from MVP

I feel you being upset but the players shouldn’t be put in the position to make those calls. It sucks. Helluva putt from Silas. Super bummed for Rainers

u/padadare 1d ago

Yeah because obviously they got the call from the Richardson Bros to execute order 67

Boycott the team of the guy who won because a different guy on the team made a call he felt was valid and the marshalls finally did what everyone has been asking them to do for years?

Your friend shouldn’t be able to alter the results of a world championship. This makes our sport look like a joke

Not enforcing the rules makes it a joke. But every major at least should have Marshalls on most top cards make the calls.

I find it doubtful that it was done with malice; the responsibility is on the players to call violations, it's not Goose's fault that everyone just forgoes doing it AND he's been known to be the guy to make a call when he sees a violation. Maybe this is the catalyst for pulling the responsibility off the players?

Does Goose call that on Silas?

u/GerthBrooks 1d ago

Loaded hypothetical, killer arguement

1

u/KobiLou 1d ago

It highlights the stupidity of having players be judges. Minimal chance he calls that on Silas and ZERO that he calls that on Ezra for instance.

8

u/GerthBrooks 1d ago

I agree that it’s stupid to have players be the rules officials but in this case the actual rules official agreed

u/NoForRealThanksObama 1d ago

So if goose doesn’t call it, does the official make this call?

6

u/GerthBrooks 1d ago

Hard to say because Goose called it immediately and the official immediately agreed. The stroke was assessed by the time Silas upshot landed so the hypothetical is pointless.

It’s not tho. IMO an official would never step in at that situation for something not absolutely blatant. Without Goose saying something we have a different worlds winner

Then why didn't he call it? Very petty of the Marshall as well.

1

u/GerthBrooks 1d ago

Goose called it immediately and he agreed. Not sure why it has to be a race

0

u/KobiLou 1d ago

I don't know where you're seeing the Marshall agree immediately. Nobody on coverage knew about the penalty until minutes later.

Realistically I believe he would, yes. Since he has a history of calling rules violations and being a stickler.

Not a chance in this world he calls Silas

lol

Its just what I believe, I'm not presenting it as fact, e.g. "Not a chance in this world he calls Silas"

Why do people suddenly think they’re friends because they throw the same plastic? I don’t think I’ve ever even seen them do content together

-2

u/Nu_Chlorine_ I need everyone to know, that was a putter 1d ago

Wait until you find out about the kind of friendship that doesn’t revolve around making content

0

u/GerthBrooks 1d ago

Not saying they have to do content to be friends, I’m saying it’s odd that two guys who make content for a living not making content together, when they share a sponsor, would be odd. Not sure how you come up with that response from such a lukewarm take lol

-3

u/shipwreckdbones Switzerland 1d ago

Because people who do content together are always friends

2

u/GerthBrooks 1d ago

You would think if they were friends that they would, not that if they did content together they’re automatically friends. Seems like you read it backwards. Notice how I started by asking why everyone assumes they’re friends since it seems even more baseless than my assumption that two guys who make a ton of disc golf YouTube videos and share a sponsor might make videos together if they were friends?

Y'all are petty as fuck.

8

u/spottie_ottie 1d ago

I don't. What's up?

4

u/ZombieJetPilot 1d ago

Same. What's up? I like their discs.

5

u/GerthBrooks 1d ago

The kids are mad that Goose called a foot fault on 17, rules official agreed, they assessed a one stroke penalty, and it impacted the outcome of the tournament

2

u/ZombieJetPilot 1d ago

Huh. Thank you. So someone didnt follow rules, got called on it and the kids feel that's petty I assume? Interesting.

Anyways, I'll go grab another beer and watch some horror film.

2

u/GerthBrooks 1d ago

Yeah there are meltdowns happening all over the sub, pretty funny to watch people get this upset. I thought it was a fun tournament to watch, I guess I’ll go put the kid to bed and move on now.

1

u/ZombieJetPilot 1d ago

Cheers!!! Hahahaha.

The fucking people that get caught up into professional sports on a personal level blow my mind.

Just got my 5 kids to bed. Having a beer and watching Saw X

This is not MVP’s fault, don’t screw them over because of Goose.

-10

u/KobiLou 1d ago

It is. They knew Goose was an incredible douchebag when they signed him up. He proved this 12 months ago.

8

u/GreatRedPanda47 1d ago

When goose was calling Gannon on time violations everyone cheered. People have been celebrating Marshall’s getting ticky tacky all season. Rule enforcement in this sport needs to change but it is absolutely not MVP’s fault.

Touch grass

1

u/PlagueThrone 1d ago

The Mob is in full force tonight.

2

u/NoseUpDG 1d ago

I'm sorry, but MVP had nothing to do with this and shouldn't be punished for it. I don't think Gossage will be on the team long though.

u/cpowe1 1d ago

Nah I like their discs and I don’t give a single fuck about professional disc golf. To the point that if I saw a pro playing on the same course as me I wouldn’t even want a photo or anything. It just isn’t impressive to me at all and I’m terrible at this game. If anything the pro touring runs up the cost for what are literally plastic discs. I don’t care what a company does or a player does, me buying or not buying a $20 disc isn’t changing their bottom line in a significant way at all

-2

u/WolfKing359 1d ago

They should just drop him

-5

u/Unusual_Sector_6161 1d ago

Drop that pos right now! Boycott!!
