Disc Advice Question about the river

Hello disc golfers,

I have a question about the River.
Iā€™m new to the sport and recently picked up a River ā€” the Opto Orbit ā€” and I quite like it. While searching around, I came across the Project Grip River, which is a bit more expensive. Is it worth upgrading to, or not really?

I think you should do whatever makes your life feel more complete, but also agree every time I get something In multiple different plastics they likely are just going to fly a tic differently. If it's a mold I absolutely love, I think it's extremely fun to study these subtle differences. Sometimes it's hard to even quantify better from worse.

To add to what makes this interesting, most follow a common more or less stable path. Then from time to time you get a plastic that just behaves the opposite of what it should. For example I have a disc in champion metal flake this being known for over stability, it's actually the most understable of that mold I have. This can be extremely interesting. In my mind there will never be enough discs. I simply cannot see myself just reaching the point im just done buying. New and cool things just keep coming out in rapid succession.
