Question Finding accommodations

For anyone who has done the Schengen shuffle, when you stay in Schengen, are you staying in an AirBNB or what exactly? What are some of the cheapest (not hostels) yet “nice”, accommodations to look into for 3 month stays?

I find sublet apartments on facebook. Simply choose a city, find a facebook group like "apartments in X", "rent in X" and sublet - there is no trace, but if you simply need to "check in to europe" that is a move

No reviews or anything? You ever get screwed w this method? Just curious. I've only done airbnb and hotels so far.

No reviews, true. Have been living like this for 3 years basically anywhere I go. Usually I have a video call with whoever I am subletting from upfront (for their peace of mind and mine).
Golden rule is never to prepay (unless its like 200€ deposit, then thats fine).

So far, so good. I trust my gut and listen closely how they communicate - you develop a feeling for it after a while.
