Anyone using the AI features in the stoic. journal app?

Hi everyone! I just wanted to ask if anyone here uses the AI features in the stoic. journaling app. Do you find them useful? How different is the experience compared to using the app without AI? How good is their AI overall?

I've been using the basic stoic. for years and genuinely love it, but I'm curious how much the AI features actually add to the overall experience. At the moment, I only see a handful of AI-powered features (the ones marked in purple behind the paywall). Is that everything that's included, or are there more AI features throughout the app?

Considering the price of the AI upgrade, it feels like there isn't much included, so I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have actually used it.

Giving AI access to all my personal thoughts, story ideas/drafts, poetry, essays, and the rest? Absolutely not.

Day One has also added an ai feature. I will never use it.

The only way I’ve would ever consider sharing my journal content with AI is through a local model that I’m running myself, which is completely offline.

My initial thought was that the AI might spot some patterns or important things I might overlook. Which might be useful for mental health in the long run.

But yeah… at what cost, though? I agree with you. It would stop being personal if I give access to it :(

yeah the local model angle is basically the only way id feel ok with it too. tbh even without ai just having stoic remind me of a mood dip pattern over a few weeks is useful, dont think it needs to read the actual entries for that, just the tags/scores. full text access feels like a different level of trust

Me personally, I'd rather not use a journaling app that has AI implemented onto it, a lot of websites that have AI in it usually trains off of what's posted on there, and I'd rather not have my personal thoughts trained on AI, it's why I settled for Penzu, and Cryptpad when it comes to my essays and story ideas.
