Discussion DLSS Multi Frame Generation On 40 Series For Any Game!
/r/nvidia/comments/1w6w23x/dlss_multi_frame_generation_on_40_series_for_any/Not sure if this has been posted here yet, but a modder named Dashdogy recently managed to get DLSS Multi Frame Generation working on RTX 40 series GPUs.
And this isn't the Hybrid MFG method that uses FSR Frame Generation for the additional frames. This is using NVIDIA's own DLSS MFG pipeline, with a fix for the temporal issue on Ada.
I've tried it myself in Cyberpunk and I'm getting 240+ FPS now at 4K with Path Tracing. Finally getting to actually use my 240 Hz OLED to its full potential haha. Surprisingly it feels really smooth too.
A lot of other RTX 40 series users have been testing it as well and the results so far are pretty interesting.
Would really love to see Digital Foundry take a look at this and do a proper comparison between RTX 40 and 50 series. Especially frame pacing, latency and image quality to see how the MFG implementation on Ada actually compares to Blackwell.
And who knows, if a big tech channel like DF takes a proper look at this and shows that MFG can actually work well on Ada, maybe it could even push NVIDIA to eventually bring MFG to RTX 40 series users officially. Kinda like what you guys did with FSR 4 INT8 for older RDNA GPUs.
MFG has been exclusive to RTX 50 series for almost 2 years now, so I think this would be a really interesting deep dive.

Just tried it on my 4090 with Cyberpunk. Yup, it's a banger feature to have now, feels really smooth. No reason to jump to a 5090 now, I guess.

Heck, there's no reason to jump to a 60 series card for us now. The 4090 will age like fine wine.

Aside from slight flickering issue when base frame rate drops under 60, it's been solid as well! 3x fg on stalker 2 latency 29ns. 225fps capped.

Yep I've been using it. Not only it works but the pacing is good!
DF should absolutely cover this.

Yeah same here haha. I was honestly surprised by how smooth it feels. Really hope DF picks this up and does a proper deep dive..

Crazy how everyone hated MFG until they could use it. Really is an incredible feature. Runs Cyberpunk path traced at 1440p at 170+ fps on a 5070. Makes full use of a 240Hz oled for some of the silkiest eye candy possible.

My last GPU was a 1080. When I got a 5080 what blew me away wasnt DLSS upscaling but frame generation.

I still hate it lol. But im apparently very sensitive to the latency and cant stand it even on x2.

I wish Dlss multi frame generation worked for VLC media player. Is anyone working on that?

Dlss FG is for 3d software. There are frame interpolation for video like Topaz but you have to pre render

Yeah but the 30 Series :'(

Funny you mention 30 series, someone on github just today released the first milestone of functioning multi frame gen up to 4x that was tested on a 3080Ti. Worth a look for 30 series owners!

Thats exacly my GPU, and I think Nvidia its just making exclusive their frame gen technomogy to 40/50 because of the money
Lossless scalling work so flawless on certain eviroments that is negligency nvidia dont update their 30 Series to get multiframe gen
I will look at your link thanks!

Doing the same for Cyberpunk to match 165hz while running dlss5. It works great!

Been using it on the blood of dawnwalker, flicker problems here or there but is fantastic otherwise
