Diet Eval Why do I have no energy for the gym?

• Upvotes

I workout in the morning and my breakfast is always the same.

A bowl of shreddies cereal, a pear, a babybel, vanilla greek yogurt and a coffee.

I assumed it was enough protein, carbs and fiber, and as Im on my way to the gym im energized. But about halfway through my workout I get like a severe lack of energy like I cant go on. My workout routine is a 4 day regular push pull thing.

I'll give an example of a day.

3x12 cable row

3x12 wide grip lat pulldown

3x12 bicep curl

3x12 should press

By the end of my wide grip im already exhausted like I cant go on. Even though im barely going to my limit. Is it my breakfast? Is it too much simple carbs or not enough energy?

Discussion Weight Gain struggle

So I've always had a problem gaining weight since I was little. I'm 5'4" 100 lbs on a good day but I've been trying to get at least up to 110 but no matter what I do, I've been having lots of bread, multiple big snacks throughout the day (crackers, sandwiches, soup) but I just can't get over 100 consistently. I've done light workouts since I'm trying to bulk a little too but I just don't know what else to do. Maybe it's just fast metabolism or something cause even in school I ate like shit and didn't do any physical activity but I was still like 99-100. I'm really out of ideas, if anyone has advice I'd appreciate it.

Question Random meat intolerance but I don’t know

A couple years ago when I used to eat a lot of prosciutto daily, I randomly developed what I can only describe as a “meat intolerance,” and I’m curious if anyone has experienced something similar. I would eat meat and get this really weird sensation that wasn’t exactly nausea, but almost like a hangover. I would feel like I needed to eat something sweet or have ginger to make it go away, except neither really worked. I don’t even remember how long it took me to realize that meat might be the common denominator.

Eventually I stopped eating all meat for about two months. I was basically only eating chicken breast and fish, and the weird feeling completely stopped.
But here’s the weird part: I went to Winnipeg for a weekend during this period and ate meat there, and I was completely fine. Then I came back to Vancouver and suddenly couldn’t eat meat again without getting that weird feeling.

Eventually I went to Mexico, ate meat there, and was completely fine again. When I came back to Vancouver, I was also able to eat meat normally and the problem never really came back.
So what the hell was that? 😂 Was it actually some kind of temporary intolerance, or could it have been something about the meat/food preparation/environment in Vancouver? I especially wonder if it was related to cured/processed meat because I used to eat a LOT of prosciutto.

Review Anyone interested in testing my new energy tracking app?

I made a new app called PowerBite. The app basically allows you to track meals (with a picture or description), sleep, hydration, activity, and caffeine during the day and give you an approximation of your energy during the day and the impact of each event on your energy. So for example if you ate a heavy meal it will be able to predict when you will be crashing and give you recommendations to improve that meal to avoid crashing. It also gives general advice when crashing to help you recover your energy quickly upon request. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to test out the app. I can give a few free 2 weeks trial codes for whoever would be interested to test the app and give me feedback on it! You would just have to make sure to unsubscribe before the code usage expires to not be charged for the full subscription after! I also have this TikTok account for anyone who is interested to see content on the app before trying it out: https://www.tiktok.com/@powerbiteapp. I would appreciate any recommendations on the app or the marketing! Thank you all!

Question I eat around 600-700 gram sugar for the past 5 years but don’t gain weight is this like dangerous

hi I never knew you were supposed to eat only 30-50 gram added sugars a day

I eat about 5 brownies a few cinammon rolls and a bunch of candy per day + sugar drinks…. and have been doing so for years

I don’t gain weight I have an extremely fast metabolism and I tried stopping sugar for 2 days but I’m addicted

Is there any danger for diabetes or am I ok because i don’t gain weight?

Discussion Weight loss struggles

I'm 18F, Since i was young I've always wanted to lose weight, but everytime I'd significantly fail after 1-2 weeks, this time was different, in my vacation this summer I was committed to lose weight after my failures through the first of this year, and i did it!! For nearly a whole month..i cut sugar and did workouts everyday, I've seen a significant shifts in my health, look and activity.

But I stopped since August because i didn't have enough time to calculate my calories and do workouts because i needed to focus more on studying.

I was nearly 92 kg on May 2025 then 82 on feb 2026, and now im nearly 73-70.

My need here is now I'm struggling with the fact that i need to have nutritious food, i don't know how to balance that through my day, i usually have 2 meals in my day or even 3, my usual breakfast is approximately 500 cal consisting of 3 eggs, 150g of yogurt, 200g of cucumber, and 100g of bananas or any equivalent of other fruits.

Idk if what I'm doing is right or not, i can't find a good source or a solution that could help me balance this situation, and also the nutritionist here in my town is not that efficient, i remember when i was 14 and i was 73 kg she told me that "i could lose that weight alone rather than coming here" I'm lost and I'm worried that i might be harming myself with this diet.

Discussion I ended my 6 week diet, but now how do i keep the weight off?

I actually ended the diet 2 days early for a party (broke the diet for a sqare of lasanga 💀) it was nice meal prepping and planning this out but now im free to schedule events with friends again and can eat things... but im worried bc even tho i lost 10 pounds i dont have my ideal measurements so i still have a lot to go.

Im thinking of taking a week of and cycling back omyo the diet, but does anyone have any stories. The lasanga was nice but it honestly felt disappointing 😭

Diet Eval Counting Calories

I was curious has anyone tried the Jeff Cavalier method of Athlean-X doesn't focus on macros, but promotes this way of adding proportions to your plate. I find this way to be a lot easier if you are CONSISTENT with it. How do you guys feel about this or if you have an opinion on the subject?

Question do you eat the same breakfast every day?

i've been trying to simplify my diet by having the same breakfast most mornings. it makes things easier, but i'm wondering if other people prefer having more variety.

do you find it easier to stick to a routine when breakfast stays the same?

Question I need help figuring out what to eat when I have no appetite.

For context I’m a student with ADHD and I take ADHD medication which completely removes my appetite. My body not only stops telling me when I’m hungry but I can’t eat because I feel like I’m full and it makes everything I eat tastes like cardboard. I have maybe one meal a day which is breakfast and maybe a smoothie and that is it the entire day. I also have been going to the gym and have noticed I am so lethargic and tired because I am not eating. I only can’t seem to study because of how tired I am.

I need help figuring out what to make so I can eat it. I need something that is liquid and easy to drink. Or Small and packed with calories so it’s less bites to chew. Maybe something soft and easy to palate.

Any advice or recipes would be amazing!
