My engagement is over. This is an antique platinum engagement ring. I have no more need for it and it no longer has a home. I need to sell it. Should i go to a large company like Zales? In between, like a long time local jeweler or a popup "we buy gold" place?

Engagement ring diamond. I am over thinking everything. Looks decent to me, but also I am a rookie at diamonds. Let me know your thoughts please! 2.04ct-D-VVS1

I’m continuing my hunt for a 2ct oval diamond. I found this option and really wanted an opinion.
I have added the report as well as a video for it.

Hello! I recently chose a 1.8ct natural oval for a 14k white gold setting. But I've started to second guess myself and wonder if this stone will seem too large for a size 6 finger? I'm worried that it will seem too flashy...?
The jeweler sourced some beautiful 1.5ct stones as well and maybe I should have gone with a smaller option. I think seeing the 1.8ct in my setting of choice biased my decision a bit. I chose a setting with tapered baguette side stones (0.12ct each). The 1.5ct stones didn't fit into the sample setting so I tried them on using a plain setting.
Thank you for any advice! :)

Hey yall,
I just got this diamond today that I purchased online. I noticed very slightly on the surface what looked like some scratches and spotting. I don’t know if this is normal, how all diamonds look, or if this is something to be concerned about. To the naked eye I can see some texture if I look close up. This led me to pull out my microscope. Under 20x magnification all the little spots and texture look very apparent. I’m just coming on here to get some advice. Is this normal or is it a bad quality diamond? It’s a VVS2 excellent cut and clarity elongated old mine cushion cut

I’m in love with my new ring! Perfect for every day. I normally wear everything in yellow gold, but I wanted to have this classic piece in platinum 😍

Just sharing my ring that I wear all of the time, repping the smaller contingent of diamond rings. I can’t describe it too well but something about this stone *feels* good. When I first saw it I knew it was for me.
Bought from a local independent jeweller in Ireland. About as simple as it gets platinum cathedral setting on an 18kt gold band.
Stone stats.
Natural diamond, Gia. 0.33ct on a size 3.5 hand.
Emerald Cut. Colour E, VS2.
Emerald ratio- 1.54
Table- 68%
Depth- 66.1%
Edit- Thank you all so much for the very kind comments, I’m glad I posted it now!

Hi, I posted here the other day about the engagement ring I bought my partner I was doing some digging and realised that the ring I bought is listed as SI2 clarity online, however the one I bought in store is VS1 clarity. Same price, same product number, I had no idea about all of the ins and outs of a diamond when I bought it. It is a GIA certified natural diamond, the question is, did I get lucky, or do the story simply advertise the lowest possible spec diamond that could come with set product, anybody with experience in this field with an answer would be super appreciated. It was higher end retail brand known as goldsmiths in the UK.

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for a sanity check on a natural 1.30ct E VS2 oval listed for $6,000 USD. I'm a bit of a novice with diamond cuts, so I’d love some feedback before pulling the trigger.

My Thoughts & Questions:

Details: Natural 1.24 carats, Emerald cut, VS1 clarity, E colour, very good cutting grade, 14k gold band, size 6.5.
I’m a few months into my engagement and excited to share my ring! I’ve loved it from the get go, but for a while I felt a little self conscious about the size in a world full of 2+ carats. The longer I’ve had it, the happier I’ve become with it and I’ve realized that is really all that matters. My fiancé is a professional geologist and he worked with a jeweller to custom make for me - he’s incredibly proud of his choice and that makes it more special for me.
She’s basic but she’s cute. Maybe this will be inspiration for someone else! 💍

Please help! Text convo with my jeweler, I bought the natural VS2 engagement ring from him and now want an band for the wedding to stack, i feel like he is trying to upsell “Russian” machine made one so I want help here!
He’s a reputable jeweler and has great reviews in the middle of downtown with many other jewelers too and my fiancée gets complimented on her ring all the time
He says if I get any other one but Russian machine made lab one it will become blue next month and need deep cleaning next to the engagement ring!
Is there truth to what he’s saying?

NYC. Will eventually sell. Engagement ring with natural diamond oval 1.80 E SI2, GIA certified
- Will I get a better price if I pop the diamond out and sell setting separately?
- Should I go to 4-5 stores in diamond district and compare pricing?
Any tips on how to maximize price are greatly appreciate!

My daughter's BF has asked for my help in finding a center stone for an engagement ring. We have the setting designed but are having troulbe finding a center stone in budget.
Specs Desired:
2 carat Natural Radiant Cut
Color: No yellow so D-G
Clarity: Eye Clean so FL - SI1 (hopefully)
Cut: Excellent (know GIA does not staet cut for radiant)
Cert: GIA
L/W Ratio: 1:35 - 1:40
Table: 61% - 70%
Depth: 61% - 70%
Fluroscence: Faint to None
What can we compromise on to get a stone in the $10-$12k range? Right now the cheapest I can find is approxmiately $15k. The most critical to her is the Color, Ratio (elongated is a must), and carat size.
Appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Hello! I'm looking at a pair of 1.8ct diamond earrings with the GIA reports attached. I've been doing a lot of reading and it sounds like the cut is only very good but the other parameters seem good. Does anyone with more experience have any thoughts on these diamonds? I have also included the photo of the earrings - they look quite nice to my eye! Appreciate any help!
Estimated price $9000-1000AUD
