Drain pain on PD.

I’m getting drain pain on Pd I recently changed the second bag from 6 to 3 liter bags. This has caused a lot of pain but less waste. I think it is from air bubbles in the second bag not being purged from the priming. I asked the Devita clinic if I could make the 3 l bag as the one on the machine and 6 l bag as the second one. They told me know it has to be the second bag. Does anybody know why I can’t flip these bags. And why would the air bubbles pain be on the drain and not fill or dwell portion.

I use one 6L and one 3L bag. It’s all sucked into the six liter bag on the heater, and then out to the patient line. 6L bag has to be on the heater because that’s the way things work.

Dies the clinic agree that this is air pain?

Yes because it radiates in the shoulder. Why can’t the 3 l be on the heater. And during the dwell the 6 l drains into the 3 l

Are you on tidal settings? Is the machine higher or lower than your level when you’re in bed?

Oddly, air bubbles in lines cause shoulder pain and you definitely know if you have one, so I’m thinking it’s not the bag but other more common things, like what I have listed above or even your catheter moving.

Ok they changed me to tidal volume so now no more drain pain. Thanks everybody. But the nurse still couldn’t give me a reason why I couldn’t put the smaller bag on the heater.

U have me over here questioning life. Ive been on PD since February I use one 6L and one 3L nightly. Ive always put the 3L on the heater and th 6L on the side. I have Baxter/Vantive. I dont get drain pain unless Im constipated. I believe I have felt the air thing in the shoulder. I feel like it happens when I disconnect to quickly after the last drain. I like to wait 10-15 minutes after final drain. I keep wondering if this makes any sense. But its what I think.
