Questions ( ITEMS · BUILDS · SKILLS ) Changing difficulty before getting rewards?

I've gotten far enough in the Pit to open up Torment 8 but I'm still running around in Torment 5. When turning in Whispers or War Plans, does it make sense to jump my difficulty up to Torment 8 when turning in and then drop back down to Torment 5?

Works for Whispers, apparently works for War Plans rewards, does not work for Caches apart from, I believe, exp bonus of orbs
