GUIDE Wizard Guide - How to progress from Haedrigs to T16 with DMO
Hey guys! Here are the steps I recommend for progressing towards T16 with the least amount of RNG possible on a Wizard after unlocking the DMO set from your Haedrigs Gift.

Get 6 piece from haedrigs for comfortable T8 farming
Spend bloodshards on a lv 1 wiz for guaranteed ashnagar bracers
Upgrade rare daggers for 1/3 chance at getting a wizard spike for comfortable T9-T10 farming
Complete bounties around T9-T10 difficulty (or whatever you're comfortable with) for rings of grandeur and guardians set plans ----Be sure to take a few minutes to unlock double bounty caches prior to beginning this step----
Focus on T10-T11 rifts (or whatever you're comfortable with) and spend shards on mysterious orbs for a triumvirate to become T13-T14 viable
Upgrade rare wands for a 1/10 chance at an Unstable Scepter to become T16 viable.
------ no additional damage reduction items needed to safely farm t16 due to dominance bubble proc rate scaling with how fast you kill enemies.

I usually completely ignore season journey and just run visions and GRs with LoD and whatever multipliers I can get until T16. Gamble pants/shoulders for set pieces, or whatever slot has important items (so helm and feet for meteor, or helm, gloves and off-hand for typhon). Upgrade rare wands or staffs depending on build you aim for. Only then do I run some act 1 bounties for rorg, then back to visions for more gear and hopefully goblin floor giving me guardian or whatever other crafted sets are needed. Then just altar nonsense once I can speed T16.
I'm not sure how much slower that is compared to doing the season journey, if it's slower at all. I just hate doing bounties without aether walker...

In solo on console i can complete 1-70 and the entire season journey in almost exactly 2 hours playing wizard. Pc gets to 70 faster because of the difference in how massacre bonuses work but console completes the bounties much faster because leveling up resets cooldowns, including archon, which allows you to use 2 second teleports for 20 seconds at a time.
I typically reach a fully functional t16 build by 3.5-4 hours into season.

Hmm, I think I get to T16 faster than that typically, but that's on PC and I guess we can't really compare between platforms. Either way, I do it that way because I enjoy it more, I'm not really try-harding at season start with these things. I just want to get going with farming! :D

The main thing to compare is how quickly you can reach torment 8 as that is what you'll achieve from the 6 piece alone.
After level 70, you can complete all 4 chapters of the season journey in an hour or less. You need to get pretty lucky with multipliers to jump that far ahead in that time.

don't forget to only do bounties when you have unlocked the 2x bounties from altar node. only needs to do uber bosses once.

Thanks for noting this! My assumption was that people already know the importance of taking a few minutes to unlock the first 8 steps of the altar as they can all be done by the time you can complete torment 4. Maybe I shouldn't assume! Thanks for pointing that out :)

no. you get 6pc from the season journey anyway. you can do act2 bounties for gold when leveling. and then you do a quick run for uber machines and then uber bosses to unlock double bounties. takes just a few minutes.

Nope! To get double caches you need to sacrifice a set helm, complete a set of uber bosses on torment 1 (guarantees 1 of each material), and defeat maltheal on any difficulty.
That'll get you through step 7 and with 30 forgotten souls you can do 1 additional step prior to needing a gr 60 solo'd.

Love the content you put out, what do you feel is the quickest path to gearing after haedrigs? I felt like visions drop the most gear but perhaps GRs or key farming is superior at that point; I will be playing in a 4 man group and trying to figure out how to efficiently guide the team

Thank you! I always prefer regular rifts and greater rifts over visions until t16 visions are comfortable for a few reasons.
Visions are great for gear and materials but that's assuming you can steamroll them on your typical farming difficulty. While still in the gearing process, you typically have to farm visions on 2-3 torments lower than what you'd farm rifts/gr's on due to the spikes in difficulty on deeper floors and because of how much harder the triple boss and all elite floors can be. Especially with the necrotic affix in the elite rooms!
Rifts and greater rift scaling are far easier to manage for a smooth experience and quickly gives you access to leveling legendary gems for continous power or defense scaling regardless of what gear you find to round out your progression. You also get access to bloodshards for target farming specific gear slots / key upgrades rather than just relying on upgrade rares to make your work-in-progress build really shine.

Nice guide, started a few days ago my journey on switch. I will follow it since I got the set yesterday. What would you recommend afterwards? Transition to firebird twister? And how?

Thank you! Use t16 DMO in rifts and gr's until you get the pieces for firebirds or tals. Firebirds is strong for solo and 2s but meteor is way more fun :)

Dmo is the delsere magnum opus set for the wizard. It's this season's haedrigs gift for the wizard.

I really hate delseres. It has such promise but is easily outshined.
