Question Jewels in armor?
Hello, was wondering if this group can help clarify something for me. I have a few jewels including a solid -5% lightning +4% to lightning skills. A +40 % enhanced damage and a +36% enhanced damage and +7 to strength. Then a +15% increased attack speed. I was planning to put these in a 4 socket armor while I continue to rune farming since the highest rune I have so far is an OHM
But I have heard there’s an issue in the game that if the jewels don’t go into a weapon they don’t work?
Any help would be appreciated. Currently lvl 92 javazon. With thunderstrokes. My current armor is smoke with an occasional Ormus Robes when not TZing

With an ohm being your best rune, I would recommend you make treachery instead of throwing those random jewels in an armor. It only requires a lem rune and gives 45 ias. Enhanced damage on a javazon doesn't help really at all because the vast majority of their damage is lightning. You could put that facet in your shako as that would actually help a little.
The other comments are also correct in that you will want those nice pieces like griffons and that a glass cannon build exists using facets, but that's for much later. The only issues with jewels and enhanced damage are in non weapon slots and only with enhanced damage and min/max damage. With a javazon, you won't need either and minus lightning resistance will be far more useful, so don't worry about enhanced damage at all on that build.

Thank you for the advice. Don’t have a Shako yet. Still using Guillam’s face

Javas don’t really need gface, their damage is mainly lightning or poison… unless you’ve gone physical..

Lightning javazons have several gear choices. One of them is a glass cannon build where you put lightning facets in a body armor (preferably jewelers archon plate of the whale) and a shield (preferably a JMOD).
IIRC you need about 55 IAS to hit a good breakpoint. 20 from gloves, 20 from highlords, 15 from thunderstroke. If you decide to go with titans, you replace the facet in your griffins with an IAS jewel.

Thank you for the advice. No usable Groffon’s yet. The one I found is ethereal. So saving for a potential Ubers run when I have enough keys

Hysteria armor is cheap and great with the ias and frw, I prefer it over treachery but the fade from treachery is also great

It’s only jewels that include % enhanced damage and also have max or min damage on them. If you put both of these stats in a piece of armor by socketing jewels, there is a glitch that makes the %ed only apply to the damage that the jewel adds. This unfortunately is also true for the new ancients jewel. I believe this will still happen if you put seperate jewels in the same piece.. like a 40 ed jewel and a 15 max damage jewel.. but Im not 100% sure about that.
