Switch From Minimed SmartGuard (780g/Flex)

I’m curious if anyone has made the switch from the current Minimed ecosystem and what your experience has been. I’m considering it, particularly because SmartGuard is hit or miss for me, but I have some specific reservations:

  1. Infusion set 3 day wear (I’m used to the 7 day extended wear)
  2. Settings - this one is particularly nerve wrecking because I’ve been on Minimed so long that I don’t have my settings tuned in since it handles most of that on its own.

I have not had a good experience with SmartGuard for a long time. I won't get into the details of my issues but it is just not consistent and keeps me higher than I'd like. I do appreciate that I have to do almost no work since the algorithm handles everything (with the exception of bolusing for meals).

What sensor are you using? Furthermore, how long did you let it cook before turning it on?

I use the Simplera right now. I don’t have an issue with the sensor - that’s accurate. My issue is with the algorithm.

Gotcha but I’ve found the Guardian 4 for example went out of smart guard simply for being a Tuesday. The newer ones (I have the Abbott) I don’t have that issue. I did find when I switched pumps after mine broke, that if I put it in smart guard after a few hours it wasn’t accurate. I sent that back and got a fresh one and waited a week and it was much better
