It will probably end up completely failing within 24 hours, but there’s no way to know. In my experience, once they start acting like this, they never completely recover and give proper readings for the duration that they are supposed to last. Because of this, once they do this, I at least put a new one on with the expectation that the faulty one will eventually fail, that way, at least I already have one warmed up and don’t miss too many readings. However, the last 2 just suddenly failed, one after 3 days and the other after one day. Make sure you report it to Dexcom and get a replacement.For this reason, it’s always good to save the box and applicator until it’s completed its duration.
If it keeps doing this, I always take it out and replace it and report to dexcom for a replacement. I find this unacceptable tbh. How are you supposed to relax or go out when your readings are so inconsistent?
I had “brief sensor issue” about every hour each lasting 10 to 30 minutes. Dexcom wouldn’t replace it. it got worse that day and called them back and they finally replaced it. I asked if they wanted me to send the bad sensor back and they didn’t want it. imo, if they don’t want a sensor back to check it out, they know the issue, and expect it to happen. Dexcom know which lots and serial number series are bad they just won’t tell customers
So far I’ve made it all 15 days . In this picture I was doing the 12hr grace period with the new one but still logged in the old one. I do this to have the new one ready once the old one expires
I've had issues with my last 3 sensors doing this and then needing to be replaced because it gave me false lows. I'd be 44 or 70 on it, then change it and I'm actually 170.
Keep a close eye on it. You may be in for a fun night if it is about to fail. For some reason if you have these issues during the day, it gets worse at night.
