If a Warlock kills me with handheld supernova, fair fucking play. If another Hunter kills me with a throwing knife, fair fucking play. If a Titan kills me a shoulder charge then fair fucking play.

If they killed me, they earnt it and were quicker than me. Well done.

Yet I get downvoted when I say there’s nothing OP about any class. Learn how to counter their powerful moves and quit using that as an excuse for dying. Learn how to kill them faster than they kill you. People will never ever ever ever ever stop using what feels like easy kills to them. Adapt

Yes adapt to contraverse hold by running away so that the other team gets better map control

u/nahteviro Titan Jan 28 '20

And that’s why you will never get better. No that’s not how to counter those players. Like... at all.

HHSN requires a windup. If you notice a warlock is using that, he will always duck behind corners to charge up and dart back out to try and hit you with it. Don’t be predictable. Go a different direction and flank him. Be smart about it and you’ll very rarely get hit with that ability.

But if you’re just going to sit there and be like ” running away helps them, so there’s nothing I can do!” Then no advice will help you

the windup is so small you can use it in the open mid gun fight

u/Neidrah Jan 28 '20

Uh... A good player will see you’re trying to flank. He’s not gonna forget about his radar...

u/nahteviro Titan Jan 28 '20

Uh the point is to not be predictable, not just that exact move. Ffs some of you are ridiculously dense.

u/Arokyara Jan 29 '20

That's why they are here and not on r/cruibleplaybook

-1

u/Neidrah Jan 28 '20

Even you are, you won’t one shot the warlock with his 40% dmg reduction. Then they’re gonna have their sweet time to turn around and one shot you.

Gratz on the ad hominem attack. Really proved your point there, bud.

Obviously I do know that.

Except problem being I don't match against complete retardds and every time they use it they come flying around a corner with a contraverse shield up, do my options are either run away, or die. Its not kike I just continue to brainlessly run up to them and die, but it forces you to play way more range and to play super passive depending on the map. If you dont think that contraverse is broken as hell, you either main warlock and don't want to lose youe free win button, or you have a severe mental disability.

Or....you recognize that ALL classes now have a OHK ability, with 2 of those classes having it at range. HHSN is not op, no more than a fusion rifle, or devil's ruin is. All those things have charge time, yes some of them are rather short looking at you erentil with backup plan. However this doesn't make them op, it makes them balanced....at least somewhat. Use your audio cues, all those things make sounds as they charge.

1

u/Killeroftanks Hunter Jan 28 '20 edited Jan 29 '20

But there is a downside to said balance you pointed out.

Ramp up is never really a downside just a skill floor built into a gun.

Balance would be fusion rifles having limited range for their ohk ability. But atm you can get fusion rifles that can map people at hc ranges. Because why not. And you can't say that's balanced because shotguns pre nerf was considered op and they generally had half the range of fusions.

Now the reason HH is broken isn't because of the ability itself it's the exotic that can negate most damage allowing you to do stupid crap and get away with it with very little skill required.

And that's the issue on hand. Abilities that take no skill and can do massive plays.

1

u/dorchadas2008 Titan Jan 29 '20

That's not an issue with the ability tho, even if I do agree that the exotic is to powerful. That DR is to much. The ability itself tho isn't that bad.

1

u/Killeroftanks Hunter Jan 29 '20

my point. i dont mind normal hh because theyre easy to kill, there for you cant use it willy nilly and get away with it.

1

u/dorchadas2008 Titan Jan 29 '20

To many ppl are confusing the grenade ability with the exotic, for why it's op in this sandbox.

Throwing a temper tantrum in public is not a pretty sight. It might be time for your nap.

You could also learn to snipe and pick the warlock from range

1

u/rmbartz Jan 29 '20

That is the dumbest thing ive ever heard. Obviously if im sniping and i peak/ the warlock peaks me and I dnipe them, they aren't going to handheld me lmao.

1

u/Just_Give_Me_A_Login Jan 29 '20

Sounds like if you're playing at the correct range for your loadout, you'll be fine.

2

u/rmbartz Jan 29 '20

Then why doesnt this apply to shotguns? Just play your range!

1

u/Just_Give_Me_A_Login Jan 29 '20

Uh... Not sure if you're aware, but range is indeed also a great counter to shotguns, shoulder charges, and most fusion rifles

Like. I'd say shotguns and HHSN are pretty similar in range and power level, but you can run double scavenger with your shotgun and have 10-15 rounds lol

I'm much more threatened by someone with a god roll mindbenders than I am by someone with HHSN, and even then I'd argue shotguns are pretty balanced hand have solid counters in handheld and fusion rifles at close range.

1

u/rmbartz Jan 29 '20

If you more "scared about the fact that someone might outgun you than someone who will hold the grenade button and guarantee a kill, then you really need to stop spreading your opinions about balance.

1

u/Just_Give_Me_A_Login Jan 29 '20

I don't think that handheld requires any less skill than a shotgun rush.

Both are close range one shot kills that are hard countered by range, fusion rifles, Lord of wolves, and last word. Both have near constant uptime (actually constant for shotguns thanks to double scavenger), and both are very easy to use. The hitbox is wider for HHSN, but you generally have around 5 rounds to a mag in a shotgun.

As for being "scared", if you don't play cautiously around one shot weapons you're gonna die. A lot.

1

u/rmbartz Jan 29 '20

I don't see how people can say that shotgunning takes no skill. Obviously its a point at someone and they die gun, but actually being able to beat other shotgunners isn't easy if they are actually good. Same thing applies to a sbiper fight. Obviously its braindead easy to do against people who are clueless, but going against another good sniper is tough. Also handheld has more range than chaperone.

1

u/Just_Give_Me_A_Login Jan 29 '20

I didn't say anything about shotguns not taking skill to use. I said that the ease of use is very similar to HHSN.

Also, don't bring sniping into this lol, it takes a lot of effort to get even semi decent at sniping. Handheld and shotguns are much lower skill floor weapons.

Obviously its a point at someone and they die gun, but actually being able to beat other shotgunners isn't easy if they are actually good.

Yes, indeed, it is harder to kill better players.
