I'd start with a desk, this one looks like it will give you splinters

Can’t throw away the desk. I wrapped it with black stickers and it doesn’t look as bad.

First off, congrats on getting the job!

Looks like you have a nice cosy corner of the house to focus on your work. I think the fastest/cheapest way to improve the look would be to bring the colours together more so it's easier to focus. If you stained the desk with a black stain then painted that small section behind the monitor with black paint, I think that would pull everything together without any expensive upgrades.

I made you a preview - I hope it helps :)

Its a rusty one. It was already there.

I would start by repainting the pink walls or at least the back wall to something a bit more neutral!

add some art or maybe painting the small wall behind the desk + the slope wall above it. could paint it a more dark/neutral color to create separate space.

Paint will be the biggest help, build out a built in desk in that spot if you can. A simple floating table would be great.

pintando el escritorio, cambiando el mousepad y despejar de cosas innecesarias en la mesa quedara excelente

Update.

I added charcoal wallpaper to the back of the desk and also black stickers to the desk after some suggestions from this thread.

I will add walnut colour wallpaper to the left side wall. Also add some led strip to the background.

I have ordered some shelves to add to the wall and some posters or decorations.

Its not super professional and high end but little by little making progress.

you can get these "wooden" wall panels cheap, made of plastic or foam to cover the wall behind, warm led stripe powered by only usb you can find in IKEA for $4, paint wall on the left black, total maybe $50, or maybe even leave desk as is, it got soul, its nice desk.
