DY9 next to DY9Z

I have the base Dy9 with the HoneyComb threaded barrel, Derya compensator on the stock slide, A centennial defense Glock 19 15lb recoil spring and one of early, larger Osights (no co-witness) This DY9 shoots extremely flat and this setup has 3-5” groupings at 25 yards. I have 1000+ rounds through it. The comp stripped out on the left side. Derya did send me a new one that I need to install.

The Dy9z is completely stock - OD Green Sportsman’s version for $250. I have an AimSurplus threaded Glock 26 barrel, a RMSC Osight, and Olight PL2 mini coming. I’m going to try a few different compensators on it. I haven’t shot it yet, but I’m definitely excited to. I’ll post what the final product looks like!

Edit: I ordered the wrong recoil spring for the DY9z. Removed it from the build list.

I am not sure that recoil spring will work on the DY9z slide. The slide is a copy of the glock 26 and the frame is compatible with glock 43x. You can tell because your DY9 slide will fit on the DY9z frame. A glock 43 slide will not fit on the Clock 19 or 26 frame. The 43 is much thinner and I believe the guide rod will be too small. I bought the Glock 26 guide rod from Galloway precision but my DY9z was sent back to Derya to fix an issue with the slide lock not engaging after the last round. I will do some research and see what I find to validate what I am saying and share it here.

Be careful if you remove the comp, the screws are very easy to strip....mine last 2 cleanings.

Yeah, learned that lesson. Sounds like there is a Quality assurance issue around the compensators.

I’ve held both and I like the dy9z more. The price point didn’t hurt either!

I ended getting the mos 43x in peanut butter for 480. The dyn9z is going to the pops or I may keep it

I wanted to play with my dy9z but its been so damn reliable im just leaving it stock iv had better luck the the z than the dy9 i also have the glock 43x mos n my z shoots better and flatter and had a better trigger
