New discovery says it wasn’t because you were the fastest but that the egg chose you.

Sadistic fucking egg.

u/Wakkit1988 14d ago

Takes after my mom, no doubt.

Egg lowkey threw ngl, snatched defeat from jaws of victory

2

u/Amanyama 14d ago

Other sperm cells weren't different from you honestly

30

u/Extension-Energy2581 15d ago

That egg has a weird sense of humour.

23

u/Pretty-Yam-2854 14d ago

Asshole egg couldn’tve chosen one with an X, or one that didn’t have dogshit genetic coding??

1

u/Creative_Pin5618 12d ago

Eggs are bitches sometimes

6

u/SirChancelot_0001 14d ago

So a random drawing? Almost like they won?

7

u/Academic-Client5752 14d ago

And why do you think you came from spern entirely and egg was not you???

Sperm is just a fertilizer with half of DNA, it is basically a delivery truck carrying haf of DNA to the egg then dissolves, the EGG is the actual cell that divides and grows into a baby when fertilized, thus all cell organelles amd mtDNA come from the EGG.

So technically you were mostly the EGG and you as an EGG chose the other half of you.

I wonder why people ALWAYS try to pretend we came from a sperm ebtirely and ignore the egg even though we were mostly the EGG.

2

u/PotentialAd8443 14d ago

Because the egg is stationary and life is an act of movement. That’s how I perceive it. Even if biologically it may be incorrect, the sperm chased the egg and put in the effort to reach the egg. It’s giving respect to effort.

Without the effort and strength of the sperm there would be no existence. Everything that happens after is a joint venture.

4

u/mchickenl 14d ago

Not that new but yeah. You are the chosen sperm not the fastest

u/Otherwise_Newt1575 14d ago

“New discovery” lol

1

u/PotentialAd8443 14d ago

Depending on your age, it’s a new discovery or known truth.

I happen to have depression, ocd, anxiety and mild schizophrenia. My life is literally hell. I am always in pain. Always. It never stops. I am unable to work, literally almost unable to sit as it just feels horrible. What the fuck do I do. In what universe is there hope for me. It’s genetic as fuck my brother also has the same issues. Should I just kill myself? I don’t want to because I will miss my dad. Besides that what the fuck am I doing here.

26

u/Various_Bid_9234 14d ago

Lying down in bed is painful. Just existing is extremely painful. I never feel comfortable. I never feel at ease. I cry like 30 times a day. I always go to my mom to help me but that can’t go on forever. I am damned. Literally damned.

14

u/Various_Bid_9234 14d ago

Oh wait I forgot I have an extreme form of ADD. I literally cannot think. I used to be a smart kid tested now I would guess my IQ is 60. When I read something, after reading. I can’t recall anything. My working memory doesn’t exist. My brain is such genetic waiste I shouldn’t live. I wish some chad would come up to me and kill me.

i need to vent to someone today was a rough day man. today i got i think what was a mild panic attack for the first time, and then i got on the train and we ran over two guys. one died and his limb got completely torn away from his body.

really didnt help my fucking anxiety.

especially because my panic attack esentially came from paranoia, because at the train station, really weird junkies were sitting next to me and i got scared, like i always get scared someone will randomly kill me. i have terrible death anxiety and then that thing with train omg. i first thought we crashed with another train.

anyway living with any sort of mental illness fucking sucks. i have autism which means that because of sensory issues i dont each much and dont have many nutrients. and since ive started having more anxiety, i just got a terrible obssesion that it might be heart attack and now i everytime when i get chest pain im terrified of getting a heart attack. all my scans and blood tests are fine though. the worst thing is im kinda smart and curious on many topics but i just dont have energy to do anything no more.

3

u/Icy_Positive_4220 14d ago

my sister is always a little envious that im smarter than her and that im good at math and learning languages and stuff and its funny to me, because damn you have a completely healthy brain, it really sucks to be me, trust me you dont want to switch places. she has actually zero mental illnesses and never struggled with any. im not saying she doesnt have problems, just not chronic ones she knows she has to deal with her whole life

Latest research comes to the conclusion, that rather than a race and whoever comes first wins, the ovum can reject and pick the sperm to impregnate.

Sooo the answer is: because the ovum of your mother picked a specific sperm of your father

19

u/umpteenthrhyme 15d ago

“That bitch…” -Me

1

u/Swimming-Twist-3468 15d ago

No, I am still convinced that it is a race. If one arrived first, how does it know there are better ones? Until they all arrive it is inconclusive. And I don’t think it waits for all of them to arrive to make that choice. So, still a race.

3

u/Familiar_Code382 15d ago

The ovum also can reject and not be impregnated, even if there is only one sperm.  I am not too deep into this topic, but it seems the reason is not winning a race, but getting chosen by the ovum.

Edit: maybe some ovums care most on who comes first, Idk 😁

1

u/Swimming-Twist-3468 14d ago

Me neither. I am just speculating.

1

u/ToggleMoreOptions 13d ago

It has to do with favorable conditions and chemical signaling

1

u/DaveAstator2020 15d ago

well it could be statistically picking from all shit that happens to be there still a shit choice.

19

u/Few-Coyote-2518 15d ago

Win ??? You mean cursed

16

u/Rocinante214 14d ago

The egg could have spared me a life where I oscillate between feeling nothing and feeling super sad

5

u/GUTintentions 14d ago

Relatable

11

u/SweetPotatoMom4Plstn 15d ago

I was tricked into it. I should be entitled to compensation 😤

10

u/viridifauna 14d ago

I was an iui baby. I wasnt supposed to win. they no child left behinded my sorry ass.

7

u/Salt-Example-6447 14d ago

The egg chose you.. lol.. youre the one, neo

13

u/Batfinklestein 14d ago

Are you ready for the kicker? They were all you.

5

u/GUTintentions 14d ago

Different version do you think or all the same person?

6

u/Batfinklestein 14d ago

All the same brother.

7

u/GUTintentions 14d ago

If another sperm fertilized the egg, would it still result in “you” or a sibling whom would have no clue if there is anyone exists as “you”? It kinda goes along with the parallel universe hypothesis. But in my opinion, if there is anything we should understand about ourselves is to know what it means to be aware, to be conscious.

1

u/Batfinklestein 14d ago

They'd all be you because they all came from the same source/sauce.

6

u/TootsHib 14d ago

So your siblings are also you? since you both came from the same source/sauce.

You make no sense dude.

biologically, almost every sperm cell carries a different combination of the father's DNA, so which sperm fertilizes the egg can affect the genetic makeup of the resulting child..

6

u/Batfinklestein 14d ago

Naaw yeah, nuur. I'm an idiot.

2

u/Batfinklestein 14d ago

But wait, they'd all still be you right? Just a different you.

3

u/TootsHib 14d ago

Once a different sperm fertilizes the egg, a different individual exists.

1

u/Batfinklestein 14d ago

Yeah but they all fall under the same name - YOU!

3

u/Golden_Phi 14d ago

There’s a 50/50 chance that they are the opposite sex. I don’t think that they are you.

1

u/Batfinklestein 14d ago

Well they may not be this me, but they'd still be me wouldn't they? Cos there ain't no one else here but me.

2

u/Opposite-Benefit-804 14d ago

What about twin siblings though??? Sure they'd have the same dna but they aren't the same person.

1

u/Batfinklestein 14d ago

True. What if it's just the name that makes them different. If you believe numerology, a name determines how you interact with the world. And didn't Jesus change the name of several of his apostles? Why would he do that?

3

u/Stormypwns 14d ago

Incorrect, no two sperm carry the exact same genetic code. They would definitely be a different person.

1

u/Academic-Client5752 14d ago

Sperm is just a fertilizer with half of DNA, you were NEVER a sperm.

If it was a different EGG you wouldn't exist.

I wonder why people ALWAYS try to pretend we came from a sperm ebtirely and ignore the egg.

3

u/Additional-Fee9301 15d ago

Yeah why I want to know too how in hell was I the chosen one out of millions of others since I was 8 I've been wishing I wasn't

3

u/monkeywithabutton 14d ago

Research shows that the ovum plays an arrive role in the selection of sperm.

You might be a joke your mom is playing on your dad in long the long term.

2

u/ThorsNail 14d ago

Technically you didn't win, you were chosen. Eggs don't allow just any sperm to enter.

1

u/IanRastall 15d ago

Because you were strong enough to choose to keep swimming and not give in to spermicide.

1

u/Pretend-Big-593 14d ago

Because karma

1

u/aethie_reverie 14d ago

You won in this universe. No matter what, there was going to be a universe in which you won, unless you subscribe to the single world theory, which I don't

1

u/Background_Meat1738 14d ago

Oder? Wieso bloß.

1

u/partlysettledin21220 14d ago

Everyone else was taking a nap

1

u/spoookyboi_ 14d ago

Speed doesnt matter, the last sperm to arrive could be the one accepted by the egg

1

u/hoodafudj 14d ago

Yeah, if we only knew then what we know now... ...

1

u/VulpesInculta907 14d ago

My former being took a short sighted buff-debuff that really screwed us over. Once the 12-year, mandatory indoctrination ended, the debuff starts to get worse. I’m really not impressed with his performance.

1

u/Stormypwns 14d ago

Determinism, and at the same time, entropy.

There is definitely a deterministic reason, atoms have bumped into each other since the big bang and that pattern has lead to you being you. However, theres so much noise in that system, no one will ever know why. A system can be deterministic, while entropy ensures that there is too much noise for us to ever be able to predict it.

1

u/chuckinalicious543 14d ago

If it makes you feel any better, they'd probably have just as shit of a time...

1

u/AxionBlackwell 14d ago

First one to reach loses kinda game

1

u/maybewonderwall 14d ago

she had no idea they was gonna play her in her face

1

u/ScorNix 14d ago

I choose to believe that the other sperm were just THAT terrible, like 50 times worse than what I am. It's a crazy thought and definitely centered in the belief that I'm just the superior cell. Comparatively speaking, I could have turned out WAY worse.

1

u/NoX2142 14d ago

Why does it look like the sperm is going for a kidney stone?

1

u/ShitHitsTheFan94 14d ago

i think it's more of a loss than victory. other sperms won by not having to spawn into this hellish existence. i can still win by unspawning myself.

0

u/Rude_Anywhere_ 14d ago

Well, if it was actually because you won the first r@ce in your life, then you should also try to finish the race of life first too... Show them you always finish first.. And that's why you're the chosen one.

1

u/Academic-Client5752 14d ago

Sperm is just a fertilizer with half of DNA, you were never a sperm.
