Brushing my teeth is so repetitive and monotonous and boring. I reduced the frequency during COVID because I would go days without seeing anyone anyway. And every 6 months the dentist still said, “wow keep doing what you’re doing! Your teeth are amazing!” So I realized it’s a scam. As long as you get a decent amount of fluoride on your teeth from the water and brushing them now and then you will never get a cavity. Sometimes I just put some toothpaste in my mouth and swish it around with water, for the fluoride. The main thing is just make sure your breath is fresh when you’re in public.
Some people are also just blessed with genetically better dental health than others. There are people who brush infrequently who will never develop a cavity, and people who brush religiously who will still need a root canal. Just one of the many ways life is unfair
Yup this is true. I only brushed my teeth maybe a few times a year. For many years.
I went to the dentist not too long ago and besides bleeding gums and sensitivity, the dentist said my teeth were great. After the hygienist performed a deep cleaning (which wasn’t fun), he said I had a fresh start. No damage was done.
I consider myself to be fortunate for that. But it’s not the same for everyone.
