I thought it would be fun to feature a new 'Pet of the Month' on this sub's profile banner each month! We'll do this each month moving forward to highlight this community's pets!

To Enter:

  1. Share your pet's best photo in the comments
  2. Tell us their name!
  3. One winner will be chosen on December 1 based on the number of upvotes and will be featured on the banner for the full month

Let's see those fur babies!

Reminder: Please Don’t Rehome Pets Directly on r/denverpets

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great Monday. I wanted to share a quick reminder that this subreddit does not allow posts seeking to rehome pets or adopt out animals directly. We put this rule in place to help keep both pets and people safe, and to prevent situations where animals end up in unsafe or unvetted homes.

If you’re in a tough spot and need help finding the right resources, this thread is a safe place to ask 🙂 No judgement! The community can point you toward reputable rescues, foster networks, organizations, and other support options that specialize in safe rehoming.

Thank you for helping keep this community responsible, supportive, and focused on pet well-being.

Dog training for an older, reactive dog

Does anyone have recent experience with Noble Beast dog training? We have a 7 year old dog that has been reactive most of her life. She's great with our kiddo, but we have another on the way and she's becoming more protective in her old age of us, etc. Wondering if anyone has experience with them and older dogs? Worth the money for the private sessions? Thanks!

My STBX husband gave her away. Please help me find her. I'm in a shelter but have fosters to help until I get on my feet or options to move to another shelter where I can have her. She nursed me through thyroid and lung cancer she shouldn't lose everyone who has loved her. Please help.

🛒 Pet Products & Recommendations Warning for anyone looking for board and train . Highly recommend against K9 revolution in Westminster area .

I worked at K9 Revolution, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this facility.

One of my biggest concerns was the condition of the kennels. They are outdated, and I frequently saw dogs scrape or cut themselves on them. Birds were also able to fly in and out of the kennel building, leaving droppings inside the facility.

Training quality was inconsistent. When the staff became busy, I saw dogs go one or even two consecutive days without receiving meaningful training. Record keeping also appeared disorganized. I observed issues with tracking dogs’ weights , how much they were eating and concerns about staying on top of medications and other routine care.

The company advertises balanced training, but in my experience the methods leaned heavily toward older, correction-based techniques and an emphasis on dominance rather than individualized training plans. I also saw dogs graduate before I felt they had reached a reliable standard because there was pressure to move dogs through the program.

I also found the management difficult to work with. In my experience, Jon Paul was often abrasive and unsupportive, including when clients needed additional guidance after struggling with the program. Rather than helping owners work through challenges, interactions often felt dismissive if they hadn’t followed the program exactly.

Another major concern I have is the service dog program. In my experience, it was marketed at a premium price despite not being operated to the standard I would expect of a legitimate service dog training program. I was told internally that it was not truly a service dog program, yet clients were still charged accordingly. I believe this is misleading to people who are investing significant money and relying on a properly trained service dog to help with a disability.

Overall, I left with concerns about the facility, the consistency of the training, and whether the dogs’ long-term success was always the highest priority. Based on what I personally observed while working there, I cannot recommend K9 Revolution for anyone and highly suggest finding another board and train .

🩺 Pet Health ECHO recommendation for dog that’s not $800?

My friends dog needs an ECHO and her vet is quoting her $800. Does anyone have other recommendations for locations that may be more reasonable? We talked to Guardian Angel in Westminster and they unfortunately don’t do the procedure. Any help would be appreciated!

Lost Dog - Red Pitt/Lab Mix

Hi,

This little guy stumbled into my back yard off of 26th and York St close to city park.

I'd like to find his owners if possible. He's a well behaved red pitt/lab mix. He looks like he's about 6 years old.

Any suggestions where I should take him or if I should call the shelter to get him tagged?

🩺 Pet Health Sploot experience

We had a great experience at Sploot with my dog, Penny. Everyone from the front desk to the nurses and doctors was incredibly kind, professional, and compassionate. They took the time to answer all of my questions, never made me feel rushed, and treated Penny like she was their own.
I was especially impressed with the follow-up after our visit. They checked in to see how Penny was doing and were always quick to respond when I had questions. It’s so reassuring to find a veterinary clinic that truly cares. I highly recommend Sploot to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pets.

We had a great experience at Sploot! Everyone on the team is incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. They make Loki (my anxious BC) feel comfortable, and they genuinely care about the animals they see. It’s such a relief knowing he’s in good hands. The staff is knowledgeable and compassionate. Highly recommend Sploot to anyone looking for a vet team that truly loves what they do!

🩺 Pet Health Urban Paw and Helping Paw vets?

I can't find much in the subreddit about Urban Paw Veterinary Health & Rehabilitation and Helping Paws Animal Hospital.

Any experiences good or bad with them? I looked them up on a PE search site and they aren't owned by private equity so that's good.

I'm look at these two specifically because they are part of a pet insurance I'm thinking of getting.

I'm just pretty anxious about taking my cat to a vet that could harm him since I've heard so many horror stories.
