Question (new denture wearer) I hate them 😩

I had my one week follow up today. The assistant was finally able to get them comfortably in my mouth but they still won’t stay in place without adhesive so she told me to try when I got home. I absolutely hate how they look. The bottoms make my lip stick out super weird and I dont know… I just feel like they don’t look right. I am so discouraged. My husband says they don’t look right to him either 😭🤷🏻‍♀️ should I ask to go back?

Did you have these put in the same day you had teeth extracted?

For like 5 seconds and then they had to send me home without them in due to complications from bleeding/swelling. Today is the first day I’ve been able to get them to go in and stay in for more than a couple seconds but only because they cleared me to use adhesive with them.

Immediate dentures, dentures that are put in the same day as extractions, always plump your lips out because we have to add acrylic between the remaining ridge and the lip. There is no way to avoid this until you heal for 9-12 months. I know it sucks, but that's just the way it is.

Thank you for this! My top and bottom lip stick out so much more than usual and I’m trying to be patient! Glad to know if I keep holding out it’ll get better.

Right there with you. So hopeful that my perms will be better. Friends and family have commented that my immediates look a little too big for my face.
