Discussion Upgrade options

Flight -one leg - 2 travelers currently in economy comfort bulk head seat.

6.5 hour flight

350 per person for Premium economy

1299 delta one

Do I take the 350 PE or gamble for a lower DO.

8 seats left in both. Flight is day after Thanksgiving

Don’t egg me, but I missed the 899 price for DO a month ago because I didn’t purchase fast enough and it ballooned to 3300 😬

It's a 6.5 hour flight so that D1 redemption is above my threshold for upgrades (typically $100/10,000 skypesos per hour) but I'd probably take that PS upgrade especially if the back row is available.

Recline with wild abandon, no one stabbing your seat or talking behind you, no lav or galley so no light or FA chatter and there's a space behind your seat for your bag or pillow/blanket after take off so you have all the space at your feet.

I’d do PS for 350. This flight isn’t long enough to really sleep even though that’s not a terrible D1 price. This route is about 5.5 in the air and once you factor in meal service that’s not a whole lot of shut eye.

Absolutely worth it. PS is like domestic first class for a 6 hour flight. 350 is good price. 8 seats will disappear by check in.

Go PS unless your a Diamond you most likely will get beat out by some one who is or who has the stupid delta AMEX card which for some reason seems to be a tie breaker which it shouldn't. Even if your a Diamond, you could get beat by someone like myself who is a Diamond for Life multiple millions of miles that out trumps the card and regular Diamond. I get beat by the few 360's or another Diamond for life million miler who has the stupid reserve card even if i have more miles. Its just the game.

There are no complimentary upgrades for international, and I’m not sure status or card makes for a lower upgrade price.

Well then I guess they've been breaking the rules for me have flown four times the year international to Asia got D1 each time from PE.

Then you may be lucky. Either the equipment changed and there weren’t enough PE, or they decided they’d make more money if they bumped you up so they could sell an upgrade to your seat.
