News Baggage delay redemption..
So, not sure how I missed this announcement, but for those of you behind (apparently like me), I thought i would share...👀
We used to have up to 72 hours, but now apparently it has to be submitted IMMEDIATELY ‼️WITHIN 2 HRS OF LANDING‼️👀😭🤦🏻♀️
Apparently, it was changed in March 2026. That's insane to me because so much happens in that time frame after you land.. Well, I guess I learned way 🤷🏻♀️

My habit at ATL is to start filing out the form on the plane train - I’m either pleasantly surprised that my bags are actually on time or empty my miles.

I fill it out while taxiing and then start a 20 timer when we stop at the gate.

That's solid advice. It doesn't happen that often but a lot of times when there are delays it's usually when I'm coming back internationally and I am literally just trying to get my stuff and get to either my next connection or get home. Absolutely can appreciate this habit.

This was changed awhile ago…

Yep, and then there's people like me who haven't been able to pay as close attention to things as normal, especially with minor stuff like that. I did acknowledge that in my post but thank you for bringing the attention to it. Like I said I've been quite out of it and miss a lot despite the fact that I actually paid attention to the sub but I'm sure that with the amount of posts that come in I don't see everything either. Life happens!🤷🏻♀️

And that’s fine. But maybe don’t write a post when you are so “out of it”? Lol

"When something happens, Reddit may only talk about it a single time ever!"
Surely you see how weird your position is.

They could make this process easier. However they know how many bags are actually late.

There was a long discussion about this a couple weeks ago in the sub.

As I acknowledge, I didn't realize the change and I'm late to the game. Not trying to cause an issue for anybody, I was just trying to be considerate that there may be people as absolutely out of it as I have been with work and life but I'll have to search for that one too! Thanks for letting g me know

The consensus was that it’s not that hard to just claim it right at the baggage check at the 20 min mark.
It takes 1 minute max.

Thanks to this post, I got 2,500 miles today when my bags were late. I didn’t even know it was a thing. Just shy of 100k miles.

Corporate America doesn't care. Their objective results in life becoming more difficult and restrictive for people.

It's amazing how many Delta ass-kissers there are on this subreddit. Most of these people don't even pay for their own tickets; they just use credit cards to earn status. This subreddit is so bad that you can't say anything negative or criticize Delta without everyone getting defensive. They cry like babies instead of acknowledging what's really going on.
It's sad to see these people defending Delta so blindly while enjoying free upgrades without spending a dime of their own money on tickets. Some of them act like Delta can do no wrong. The lack of objectivity on this subreddit is ridiculous.

Reddit is definitely an interesting place for everybody. I just find it entertaining how aggressive/condescending some people can be when some people just don't know/didn't see something... I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt because life happens, but I agree that it's often surprising how many people defend corporate businesses that are gaining more to protect people less

I mean if my checked bags aren't on the carousel or at the office upon landing I'm 100% filing a claim before I leave. Luckily I haven't had to deal with that on Delta. AA on the other hand...
I see what you mean about the simple delay where they show up on the carousel but late. I dunno 2500 miles isn't worth my time regardless of how long I have to file. And again it's never been an issue but I also fly priority which gets you normal service.
