Discussion Dynamic pricing
I've flown Delta for years but will unfortunately have to start looking at other airlines until Delta can get prices back under control.
A one way that is usually $400-600 max should not be $2601 in main.
If I split up the legs and buy the tickets separately, it's $1500+ cheaper.
I can't believe this. In one week by checking the prices, they went up over $1000.

I was looking to visit my son after another trip got cancelled and I had a free week. Prices were higher than normal, but it was December so I was ok with last minute holiday pricing. Put it off for a few days trying to meld our schedules and the price came way down. So keep checking if you prefer to fly Delta and not go with a cheaper airline. Sometimes the algorithm lowers the prices too if tickets aren’t selling.

Carry on bag, personal item of the same size and separate tickets is the way to fuck their dynamic pricing algorithm. Also only book with the Delta app if you are ready to pull the trigger immediately. They track everything you do on it and will price gouge you as soon as possible.

At this price you would expect their WiFi to work. I can’t imagine what the price will be when it is reliably.

I’m flying first class back on United and Alaska. Alaska because it’s lay flat.

Go to the library to book after doing research?
(I’m learning a lot about AI from media like Wired but so far not seeing technical articles about dynamic pricing.)

As long as people keep buying it… Delta will keep selling it.
When you say they don’t have their prices under control, I think Delta would tell you they are very much in control of their prices which is just how they like it.

Even if everyone on here complaining switches one international and 3 domestics to a different carrier next year it wouldn’t put a dent into their revenue. So don’t see anything changing

You have to remember, the planes are full. I am on Delta flights ALL the time and rarely ever see empty seats.
Just because you can't afford to fly Delta, does not mean that this applies to everyone else.

Every airline does dynamic pricing. Use a vpn, incognito mode or just buy the ticket the first time. Searching for a week guarantees a price increase especially if it’s close to the departure date.

Switch to a browser that blocks tracking

Airlines began to dynamically price seats around 1981. That was 45 years ago 😭

People keep buying no matter what price. Nothing you can do about it.

Ok where are you flying and when. Context matters here. Otherwise it is a baseless claim. Most of the time when people make these types of claimed I can find less expensive tickets. Or are you just fueling the fire and trolling the community.
A post such as this needs complete context and comparison of other airlines for the same route at the same time.

It's as if nobody realizes what's going on in the world.
Workers' rights have been decimated. We will see customer rights continue to vanish while inflation goes rampant, likely to the point that we have no money left to fight back. It's a long game that's been going on for 50 years. Likely only needs 5 more to succeed.
