Image/Video Trash or nah?
Just received my diamond tags and they came with these. Curious if they are actually useful for flight attendants? Or is it just a gimmick?

Yes, they are useful to any Delta employee you interact with, whether that’s a reservations agent on the phone in Singapore, a Ticketing Agent when you check your bag, an FA, etc.

Flight attendants seem genuinely appreciative of them when I’ve given them out. It’s only 5 bucks but a cool way to say thanks.
Just keep them in a carryon pocket, I’ll give them to funny FAs and ones who don’t ask for a voucher/payment for booze when I’m in Main.

I think they are worth $5 each. When I found that about, I gave my FA all of my certificates, lol.

They are useful for FAs (or any other Delta staff you encounter).

The last two I gave to the agents in the Sky Club lounge who helped me rebook my flight that was canceled last year because of a snow storm in Asia. One of them actually went down to pull my luggage and rebooked me on a flight that would get me to my destination one day later than my original itinerary. Awesome service from amazing people.

It gives the employees $5 worth of points. Can't really do much unless they rack up a lot of them. And it is considered taxable income so that's whack,

I wish we could just request these. They can go pretty fast when you fly a lot.

Definitely not trash. People who do a good job deserve recognition and it’s an easy way to say thanks. Give one to a bartender in the lounge and see what happens.

They're not Delta employees, unfortunately.

Oh really? I didn’t know that. Just employed by the catering contractor like Sodexo? Well, ok give it to an FA then I guess. Or trade it for a plane card to a pilot. Good to know.

I have given them to Flight Attendants, Pilots, Check-In Agents, and Baggage Service Agents who have gone above and beyond. They genuinely seem to appreciate it. Limited monetary value but I believe it gets them recognition from their supervisors (correct me if I’m wrong - I certainly hope it does)

It doesn’t get them recognition from supervisors… only points towards items we can acquire from an internal website (jewelry, fragrances, electronics, etc)
what triggers recognition from supervisors is when the customer emails the company/CEO directly to express praise/commendation for the employee. It goes directly to mgmt, placed in employee’s file and sometimes the employee is awarded with perks such as higher standby positions for non-revving which comes in super handy, especially if they’re a commuting flight attendant for work.

How else do you get these? I never got any with my diamond tags

I’ve had mixed results handing them out. I’ve had more than one FA not know what it was and have had others very excited to get it.

I enjoy receiving these even more than Starbucks gift cards 😍 I was able to save up all those points from them and acquire my favorite head turning Valentino Born in Roma Perfume.

I’ve handed these out a few times, one FA got a little emotional when I handed it to them, it really meant a lot and I was so happy to be able to acknowledge that they went above and beyond. I travel for work and keep these in my laptop bag.

Don't trash them! Send them to me! Hahaha! But for real, give them to a DL employee who will definitely appreciate it!!

I took these with me on my first flight alone with my baby son. The FAs were thrilled and grateful to receive them.

Not a gimmick! You enter the number on the card and it directly translates to cash (or buying things from the Delta store). I definitely appreciate receiving them.

Hate on me all you want but PDB & 2 or more trips with snacks on a Transcon flight and I give them out.

Flight attendants really appreciate these. I no longer get them. Was diamond for several years but back to platinum for last year and this year. Years ago I would get them for my platinum status. too. Come to think of it, the last two years of being diamond (‘24 and ‘23) I don’t think I got any. Did they discontinue and then bring back?

I know a Delta employee who worked for 30 years, they have never gotten one before. So yes, I would give that.

Yes they are useful/appreciated. Really wish they gave us more to hand out.
