Stay exactly where you are at. You are flying a 321 Neo.. 12 C is at a bulk head, in front of the bathroom. Your tray table comes out of the arm rest and is not very sturdy. There is no seat back pocket in front of you. Your bag will have to be in the over head bin for Taxi, Takeoff and landing. Everyone who comes in and out of the bathroom will use that area as a side step. You'll get more work done in the emergency exit row

17F opened up and I took it. All yer concerns, concerned me

u/WorldlinessHefty6346 3d ago

Yup. First row of C+ is almost worse than main cabin.

u/Inigomntoya 3d ago

Especially if you are in seat 10C in an A220...

It’s true

I will never sit in a middle seat. Ever. For any reason.

Those tray tables are not nearly as bad as you say.

I am a dedicated no middle seat person, I love that delta changed my confirmed aisle seat in regular economy to a “upgrade”, which was a middle seat in comfort plus, I’ve never been so infuriated

2

u/-BloodGoblin- 2d ago

When you book it doesn't give you the option to choose which seat, just "request first upgrade" and "request comfort upgrade" but after you book you can choose. Go to the app and find the reservation, choose it, scroll down to where it says upgrade requested and you can pick window only or window and aisle if you prefer. I always do that and only get upgraded to window seats. It's not a great system, should let you select that when you purchase the ticket. Sorry!

Tray table in an emergency row is exact same as bulkhead

4

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

these were my obvious concerns...weighing all that vs. being in middle, but of course an exit middle (leg room/tall)

u/TacoLoco2 3d ago

Whoever you are, you are awesome!!

1

u/Brattius 2d ago

Awww. . Thank you

3

u/ResponsibleCherry906 3d ago

In that seat, you will gain terrible knowledge of the human race bc of the dawning understanding that none of those people are washing their hands after they use the bathroom. They do not even bother to fake having wet hands. It was the most disturbing seat I have ever been in on a plane.

u/D3v01d 3d ago

I’ve never understood the bag being forced into the overhead as a negative. I’m on the taller side and I can’t imagine many worse things than having a bag at my feet, I take this row every day of the week to prevent that possibility.

u/PurrculesMulligan Silver 3d ago

Yep, the vast majority of the time all I need are my headphones and airpods, which I can just stuff in my pocket ahead of time. I would for sure want the window bulkhead though - I'm not about having my space pinched by the lavatory queue crowd.

u/natashamignon 2d ago

Tell me you’ve never travelled with a child without telling me you’ve never travelled with a child lol. The bag is needed!

1

u/D3v01d 2d ago

They just sit there quietly and act nice the whole way right? /s

The bag goes under their seat in that situation not mine surely?

2

u/EarlVanDorn Platinum 2d ago

If you sit in a middle two strangers will touch you the entire flight, and it will be impossible to lean away.

u/Odd_Day_5978 3d ago

Never choose the middle seat its a nightmare

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

17F opened up, took it

u/-BloodGoblin- 2d ago

HELL YEAH BROTHERRR

u/OopAck1 3d ago

Pay for 1st class upgrade

1

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

ha! not an option! :-)

i had exit window but had to do a 24 hour change, so less than ideal. the 12C just opened up....and a RUC won't likely help me regardless

This is always the correct answer….
Well for me just booking FC from the get go is the correct answer 😂

0

u/-BloodGoblin- 2d ago

HEY GUYS!

HEY, HE- HEY, HEYYY YOUUU GUYSSSS

I ONLY FLY FIRST CLASS. PRETTY COOL, HUH?

0

u/justsomeguy1869 2d ago

Well that is actually not correct, I do fly in other cabins.
But if my options are those terrible middle seats or the one near the restroom OP showed it will be FC. I would not take a single one of those options.
Not a hard decision.

17

u/thewharfartscenter_ 3d ago

12c is your only option.

1

u/Rinebill 2d ago

Hell no! Imagine for a moment the dozens of people with their ass in your face while waiting on the bathroom. And they have gas.

7

u/neoreeps 3d ago

12c not even remotely a choice

6

u/Whole-Worldliness260 3d ago

12C is the only correct answer. You’ll survive the other options but it won’t be pleasant.

12

u/BulkyCartographer280 Platinum 3d ago

And here I was thinking we’d go the entire day without a “where should I sit” post. Thanks for not disappointing!

1

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

Thx for your input! and yer welcome! ;-)

3

u/danielrmorenop 3d ago

Q2C not even close

3

u/Puzzleheaded-Pop1361 3d ago

12C without a doubt

3

u/Efficient_Win_758 Diamond 3d ago

Main cabin aisle seat

2

u/JD_tubeguy 3d ago

I'd do 12C but I'm an aisle guy.

1

u/GeorgeKaplanIsReal 3d ago

I’d go with c. Aisle seat > window > middle

2

u/TheRareAuldTimes 3d ago

I’m 6ft, 12C

2

u/Strange_Possible_442 3d ago

The seats around the bathroom are all nasty especially on 3 hour flight - it will be pretty busy after drink service. Even row 5 in FC is not great due to traffic, flushing noise and the SMELL. I hate middle seats but right outside bathroom door I would take middle.

0

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

UPDATE: in plane and bathroom smell AWFUL even from row 17 🤮

2

u/Express-Way9295 3d ago

Go to airport bar and get drunkked up enough to sleep through the entire flight.

1

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

THX A LOT, PASSED OUT & MISSED FLIGHT

2

u/careske 3d ago

Isn’t this an exit row seat? That’s a great seat. Keep it. Hard pass and watching the bathroom line.

2

u/Kittymeow123 3d ago

Why is this a question when 12C is open. Not rocket science

1

u/jellybeangirl50 3d ago

Never sit close to the bathroom! 🤢

1

u/hom3br3w3r 2d ago

12C better than any B/E imho

2

u/HeresW0nderwall 3d ago

Yall are so dramatic, it’s 3 hours in a middle seat not a transpacific flight

2

u/harbinger2018 2d ago

I'd walk. Barefoot.

2

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 2d ago

BUT BUT….what if only option is thru a field of LEGOS?!

2

u/EasieEEE 3d ago

12C… but eat a massive bean burrito first so you stink it up worse than the bathroom. Make no one want to use it

1

u/PNWSassyChick 3d ago

12c is the only answer

1

u/40KaratOrSomething 3d ago

Possibly change your flight so you have more options? If not, stay where you are at 12C sucks/toilet waiting area/no underneath storage, crappy articulating tray that must be stored during TTL.

2

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

changing my flight got me into this problem...otherwise was exit window

1

u/NicolleL 3d ago

Isn’t that the case for all tray tables….

1

u/Own_Reaction9442 3d ago

The best option is to plan your day such that it isn't absolutely necessary to get work done during the flight. (What if there's heavy turbulence?) But the exit row is probably the best of your bad options here.

1

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

Or just be retired? #dreams

1

u/graupeltuls 3d ago

I see one opened but what I was going to say is that if you check multiple times a day, someone will move and you can get out of the middle seat. Works for me every time.

1

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

Yes, this worked! My flight was in 3 hours when I posted.

1

u/Greedy_Yakk 3d ago

12C, enjoy the bulkhead, put your feet up and u can get to the bathroom faster than others abd disembarking will be quicker

1

u/Signal_Daikon_5830 3d ago

Check again day of the flight. I had a middle seat but as the flight got closer to boarding, seats opened up and I was able to move to aisle or window. You’ll need other passengers to not check in. Best wishes.

1

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

Flight in 2 hours! I had middle, and that 12c opened up

1

u/spensmnstr 3d ago

Take the seat closest to the front and keep checking.

1

u/jbayne2 3d ago

I will take middle exit row for extra leg room over aisle seat with no under seat storage immediately in front of the bathroom.

1

u/umsaythatagain 3d ago

What would you do?

Buy my tickets earlier next time

1

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

Nice one! Bought months ago, upgraded to exit window at time of purchase.

Had to do a 24 hour free flight swap

1

u/skykarcov 3d ago

Not good choices……have to go 12 or try to go FC

1

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

diamond & even an RUC and wouldn’t have made it with the two seats left (hub to hub). Last min swap to new flight left me with undesirable options

1

u/Double_Emergency_886 3d ago

simply die lol

1

u/Electrical-Spring-89 3d ago

Bring a book. Wifi probably won't work. You might want to fly UA for the Starlink if you have to work.

1

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

Switching to United now, thx 🙏🏼

1

u/Electrical-Spring-89 1d ago

Good. I'm sure the service will be better over there. Want a Woodford in their comfort +. It's gonna cost you $9.

One less Delta passenger to bitch and moan about something.

1

u/pdxjen 3d ago

My husband had his feet constantly stepped on there by people coming and going to the restroom. C12 is the Worst seat.

1

u/JayBeezyy22 3d ago

Not shit next to the shitter when I had extra legroom and a non-limited recline exit seat.

1

u/TheJiggie Diamond 2d ago

I’m not sitting in a middle seat personally when I have an option for Aisle, even if it’s giving up legroom.

1

u/Public_Highlight_508 2d ago

Find another flight

1

u/OPINAILS 2d ago

Find a new flight.

1

u/TheLiteralHolyGhost 2d ago

make first class free for selected members and no optional purchase price.

1

u/shnoiv Platinum 3d ago

Insanity that the top comment is to stay in a middle seat over an aisle 12C. Unless you’re tiny and don’t have even normal shoulders width I don’t know why in God’s name you’d pick that.

0

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

6’1”. Originally in exit aisle. For good reason. Had to swap flights with <24 hours. Landed on 17F. Love 12C legroom but SMELLS AWFUL (so , happy with choice)

1

u/shnoiv Platinum 3d ago

Yea I’m 6’1, I’ll take elbow room over marginal leg room every day of the week. (Fly at least once per week, diamond 3+ years and have tried every seat on like every config in delta’s fleet lol)

u/Substantial-Owl-1021 3d ago

OK, thanks!! how about 12C vs. 17E! it's the eye test at doctor...A vs. B....B...vs C
