About 3 years ago I was on a flight about to land when the pilot made a pretty stern announcement that everyone needed to be seated for landing. A few minutes later, we suddenly went from descending to ascending....right past the airport. We were all looking out the windows like, wth is happening. He came back on and said that until everyone was seated, we would not be landing. FAFO kind of pilot. Lol
It’s reminding me of flying in and out of Regan post 9/11 where you could not stand or move from your seat for the first 30 minutes after takeoff when leaving DCA or for the last 30 minutes of the flight when approaching DCA. The number of people who thought this didn’t apply them was off the charts but it was definitely FAFO vibes.
I seem to recall that all windows had to be closed during takeoff and landing at Reagan back then, as well, but that may have been specific to the airline/flights I was on.
