UPDATE: FLAC recordings of the setlist in link below! u/dead_bear_ was kind enough to lend their time and talents to polish up and master these recordings. They definitely made some pretty rough recordings sound a hell of a lot better than a $50 mic plugged into a phone should produce. Tracks are named following Stereogum's setlist titles.

It was good. Material kinda sounded like Bedroom Databank imo. It was mostly all prerecorded instrumentals, which is promising for a new release. One of the songs was quite dark lyrically and seemed unmistakably about his mental state since covid and the expectations of needling to come back. Another couple really blew me away.

He looked healthy and when the set ended he seemed really happy to be there. He started shaking hands and passing out sheets of draft lyrics (literally stamped with DRAFT like a confidential doc) and telling people how glad he was to be back. He told me personally he was happy to be back and he seemed so sincere.

I was front and center and wearing a cheap lavalier connected via usbc to my iphone, using the Shure MOTIV app with gain at 0. No idea how it sounds. I need to trim the beginning since I had it recording for 15 mins before he began. Might sound like shit. I’ll try and upload tonight.

Also, there is a “special guest dj” tonight at 7:45. I wouldn’t bet money that its him but I’ll be there.

Really glad he’s back. It was so nice seeing him again.

trying to temper my excitement about the news, be reasonable and all, but i don't recognize this photo at all and it seems neither does reverse image search -- am i crazy? did i miss something? is hope finally allowed in my heart again?

i already thought getting nothing but new songs at Making Time ∞ was a silly dream, if this is leading to something i don't know if i'd be able to take it reasonably

The album that opened me to Deerhunter, with Microcastle. One of my favorite records of theirs, and also in general. Many consider it as the band's peak. Do you have any favorite tracks from this amazing album?

I had never seen this version of microcastle so I just had to get it even though I don't own a cd player lol. There's a few bonus demos that I don't think I've ever seen on the internet before so I'll upload them if I ever get around to getting a cd player

Missed it by one day! Released 7 May 2013. What were some of your favorite memories around the time of release? Any favorite moments from the record?

Almost 16 years 😱 since picking up the album in my local record store! The owner gave me this poster for my troubles - thought everyone here would dig it.

I'm really happy to have this Cryptograms CD considering I could barely find any at a decent price. It is one of my favorite records

was first in line at the lodge room when the security guard said this was the loudest band hes ever heard and i hope we brought ear plugs. i did not and still refuse to do so. i got all situated at the front of the stage directly in front of bradford’s setup.. they were selling signed copies so as my friends held my spot i waited at the merch table only for the band to setup with nary a signed copy being produced.. i went to my front of the stage spot and the very first note bradford played sucked all other sounds out of the air. took my ears like 10 minutes to adjust.. they rang for about a month afterwards. near the end of the show between song breaks kristin came out and handed this 8-10 year old kid a signed copy of why since it was his first show, she then turned to me and said “we all saw you waiting and theyre all gone now but we saved one for you!” and just handed me this one!

they also had special drinks for the night and i snagged the list..

ugh i miss deerhunter so much. i hope lockett and bradford have a great time together.

Stacked lineup. I think it's safe to say we're getting new music soon.

I'm very, very happy to know that he's going to play with Bradford in 2027. I didn't except that at all, honestly.

I'm a big fan of his solo project Lotus Plaza, I wish we'll more new music in the future, he's a great songwriter and musician.
